I would recommend Clomid since it is the first choice of drug by physicians and has also been proven very effective. It has been used for 25 years and it has a 60-80% effectiveness. It is a very simple and widely used drug. The dosage is one pill of 50mg per day for a total of 5 days. Usually the person ovulates 7 days after the last dose of the drug. It is however recommended Clomid not be taken for more than 6 months. The side effects are mild. They include hot flashes, blurred vision, nausea, bloating and headache. It can also cause changes in the cervical mucus by making it harder to tell when the person is fertile and may also inhibit sperm from entering uterus.
Other drugs used to stimulate ovulation are injectable hormones. One example is Pregnyl or Novarel. It is used along with other fertile drugs to trigger ovaries to release mature eggs. Its side effects are mild and include tenderness, infection on injection site, blood blister, swelling or bruising.
Hypothyroidism happens when the thyroid is not making enough hormones. An example of a drug is Synthroid. It is a replacement for hormones normally produced by thyroid gland. It can be taken by oral tablet, liquid filled capsule or an injection.
There has been a link between Hypothyroidism and infertility. Low levels of hormone can interfere with ovulation, which impairs fertility. Also, some of the underlying causes of hypothyroidism could also impair infertility. Treating hypothyroidism can correct infertility.
I believe women over 40 should receive infertility treatments if they want. Nowadays, most women are putting their marriage or family on hold to have a career. When women are done going to school and getting experience, they are older. Women have a lesser chance of getting pregnant after 30 years old. In addition, young women who would of struggled getting pregnant at an earlier age might of had their time wasted by not seeking treatment. As long as these women over 40 years old are aware of the risks of pregnancy after 40 and they fully understand them, I don’t see why they can’t have the opportunity to conceive a child. The risks include genetic abnormalities and a higher risk of miscarriage.

1) I would recommend medication called Clomiphene citrate (clomid)—antiestrogen because, this medication given to women who are not ovulating normally and is often the first choice because it ‘s effective (study shows 60-80% effectiveness) and been used for more than 25 years.
Potential side effects increase the chance of multiple births.
Medical emergency side effects are Hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, tongue, or throat. OHSS (Ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome) can be life threatening condition get medical help immediately if you are experience stomach pain, N/V/D, rapid weight gain, little or no urination, and pain when you breathe.
Common Side effects are mild for this drug. They include hot flashes, blurred vision, nausea, bloating, and headache, and changes in the cervical mucus.
Hypothyroidism medication-I would suggest for my friend, medication called Synthroid (Levothroid) it is the standard treatment for hypothyroidism. This medication restores adequate hormone levels.
2. In the case of women over 40 struggles to get fertility, treatment is the best advisable option. Majority of women would love to have a child, if there is no natural way of conceiving a child; her second best option is to go with the treatments.
