The Annotated Bibliography is a portion of the final anthology/annotated bibliography assignment. Please note that by today’s class, you should have completed your annotated bibliography (which will include a MINIMUM of 16 sources).
Please see the description of the full assignment below. This assignment will be resubmitted with the full paper when the final is due.
The anthology assignment is an in-depth study of an issue related to educational psychology for which researchers/teachers/educators have different perspectives. For this assignment, you will be asked to research one of four topics – you will be assigned these topics early in the semester. You are required to read and annotate a minimum of 16 articles on the topic. The annotations will be due twice during the semester.
The 16 articles you choose for the annotated bibliography must be quality articles from peer-reviewed journals, published within the past 10 years, on your topic. It is important that the articles be high quality as well as relevant, as you are required to reference the articles in this assignment.
After you have read and annotated these 16 articles, you will be asked to choose the eight most relevant articles you would use for an anthology on this topic.
You will write an introduction to your anthology, referencing each of these eight articles. In this written introduction, you will argue for a perspective (your position on the answer to the question posed by your topic), anticipating and addressing possible counter-arguments. You will provide copies of the journal articles when you submit your annotated bibliography and the introduction your anthology. It is expected that you will not be able to write these introductions in fewer than 10-12 pages. Specific directions and an assessment rubric regarding this assignment will be provided in class.
