The Fire Safety Department students face a couple of problems. These are such as irregularities in class schedules, limited course choices and damaged equipments. These things are necessary for the facilitation of smooth learning of students. This is a request to the department to look into these challenging scenarios for the effectiveness of learning needs of students.
On the issue of course filling, it is necessary for the department to give many opportunities to junior and senior students. The upper division courses are necessary for them more than the freshmen and sophomores who take up the chances locking out other students. As a suggestion for the reduction of this scramble for courses, the department can consider expanding the options a student can take up. If the department diversifies course choices, there will be adequate opportunities for students.
Students report lack of challenges in their courses. There seems to be repetition of materials between courses and that minimizes their expectations for specialization. It is positively focused that minimizing of repetition is a way towards encouraging creativity in students and making the department performance to improve.
This is a department in need of practicals and that calls for effective equipment. The department can revamp the lab and have it equipped with functional equipment to facilitate the effective practice of Fire and Safety students. I understand that it is an expensive venture but for the development of an outstanding reputation, it will be a worthy investment. This will make the Fire and Safety department a functional section for the production of professionally prepared students ready to operate in the job market.
