Famous women in Germany
Germany as known from the its early times, it has gone through so many things such as the world wars, the Hitler’s regime which was very tough of all to the women. The Germany women were looked down upon in so many things. They were denied so many privileges. For instance, the women were too inferior to the men they were not allowed to take part in so many activities similar to the ones men did. The men did so many things such as they worked in the government, judiciary and in the army but the women had been prohibited in such areas. For instance, when a woman asks to either choose between her carrier and her marriage she will be directed to marriage just because that that is the field they have specialized at and are good (Boccaccio & Brown, 2003).
Getrude Scholtz-Klink was a very powerful woman who led the “Nazi” women movement. She was so influential to them but though she was entitled to following whatever Hitler said she also tried to push through some of the women wishes and thus increasing their privileges. The women were not allowed to have some more training on their domestic jobs. She trough the women group “Nazi” they pestered until they were allowed to take part in the second world war as part of the army but still they were denied to dress as the men. They went to the wars wearing the skirts.
Lisolotte Herrmann, this was a college student who was very brave and took part in the student movement. Liselotte was a very brave woman and she will live to remain in the women heart and minds as a hero. Many people feared Hitler and in addition, women had no opinions over the men at that time in Germany (Boccaccio & Brown, 2003). This college student, Liselotte was very brave because she still had a word for Hitler despite how He was feared among the people. She was against the appointment of Hitler as the chancellor of their college. She tried so much until the information got to other foreign countries. Liselotte was murdered two years later because of what she did. She was the first woman to face the death penalty.
Some twenty women, who saw their relatives deported to a camp managed to steal a famous book by the name the song of the deportees. Moreover, they tried as much as they could to have it known by the many. The women included, Mildred Harnack-Fish, Freya von Moltke and Libertas Schulze Boysen among other many women. They were then arrested and executed one after the other. Another woman who was also powerful Sophie Scholl tried to spread out the knowledge of one bishop who was condemning the mentally ill people, more so she helped some of the Jews to escape from Germany because they would have been killed. Sophie was later arrested and killed (Boccaccio & Brown, 2003).
Dora Schaul was a female who was a communist and had escaped from Germany also led her regimes from there against the Germany government. Another women group known as Third Reich women had also some influence on the Adolf Hitler’s government though minimal but it helped. Mary Goebbels one of the strong members of the Third Reich women, married the minister of propaganda, Joseph Goebbels. This wedding was significant to the people for the woman had been married to such a man so they ought to be respected (Boccaccio & Brown, 2003). Elisabeth Schwarzkopf was the first German woman to head a federal ministry. She headed the ministry of health in the year 1961-1966. She too fought for the Germany people for their rights before being a minister.
These were the first women who were powerful but not forgetting the other recent powerful women. These include Angela Merkel who is the first German woman who is a chancellor in Germany and among many other women.
