Felonies, Misdemeanor
Introduction
Law is a system of rules, which regulate the actions of members in a society through imposing penalty codes. Law is wide and its application in today’s society particularly noteworthy. Law not only regulates the actions of people, it also creates an atmosphere where civilians can operate freely. All types of activities in today’s society operate under the various forms of law. Contract law standardizes almost everything from acquiring bus tickets to various forms of trade in markets. Trust law relates to assets acquired for financial security and investments. Tort law permits the claim for damaged properties owned by an individual. Property law standardizes the transferring of personal property and any real property. The constitutional law gives a framework under which law rules, protection of each person rights and electing political representatives gets representation. International law strictly governs the institutionalizing of affairs among various states. The affairs may range from military actions to trading activities. All these types of law affect people in their daily activities.
The issue of Guantanamo bay is becoming of global concern. In this facility, the USA holds detainees in a place where neither the United States law nor international law applies. It is becoming an issue of human rights abuses performed by the USA in the name of actively curbing terrorism. Activists argue that the detainees must have a fair trial in the federal courts or released. In situations like these, then the law applies. The confusing bit is the extent to which the law should apply. No one should be held outside the law, yet security measures are essential.
The other current intriguing issue is that of the nuclear facilities in Iran, Afghanistan and Israel. The nuclear facilities are in accordance with the law, but they create some controversies as to the rights and regulations, which should govern these facilities. Other G5 countries are stepping in and opposing the creation of these facilities, which are recognizable by the law. Law rules apply in these situations, where international body, which regulates nuclear facilities, verifies the use of these weapons. Countries such as Iran refuse the intervening of international observers to verify whether there are indeed nuclear facilities. The law has to bend in, and stop the making of these facilities.
Conclusion
In the corporate world where business transactions are the main factors run by companies and industries, law integrates into the system and forces some changes. In America, for example, the companies strongly pushed for their own set of rules published and stipulated in the constitution, which only affects them. This means that where the companies were on the wrong, the rules, which would be in use, are those that only apply to companies but not the rule of law. As much as it would seem beneficial to companies in recognizing them as an independent organization, it would undermine the people who work for the same companies, as they will only be recognizable as arms of the companies. This is where law was affected, with the devising of business law. The business laws are fair to all and affect companies. For example, where women were not in a position to take leadership roles, the law intervened and gave them a chance. In conclusion, law rules affect current affairs in today’s lives in many intriguing fields, and it will need constant review.
