Ferris bueller’s day off

Ferris bueller’s day off
Ferris bueller’s day off is a 1986 depictive American teeen coming of age comedy. It was both written and directed by John Hughes. Basically, the movie depicts a highschool street-wise guy who’s is determined to take a day off from school regardless of the school principal thinks of it.
The first positive attribute I can attacfh to the comedy is the fact that it has a simple easy-to-understand storyline. The movie starts off with a high school senior Ferris Bueller wanting to skip school. It is on a cool spring day and the high school wise guy manages to fake an illness to his folks. He goes ahead to convince his girlfriend together with his pessimistic best friend to pass their day in Chicago (DiMare, 2011). This is meant to be one of their memorable last flings before they clear high school and enrol in different colleges. The sharp Ferris thus manages to convince his best friend Cameron to borrow his father’s prized convertible the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California. Word quickly spreads that Ferris is ‘seriuosly ill’ and thus contribute to help ‘save Ferris’. However, his ocassionally sarcastic sister Jeanie and the school’s Dean Rooney do not believe Ferris’s deception but neither can do anything to stop the truant Ferris. Jeanie is frustated at the fact that Ferris always has a way of getting away with his tricks, something she’s is unable to do. In addition, Ferris is seen to be the ‘more beloved’ child of their parents.
The comedy film is a portrayal of Ferris’ day off from school and a time to enjoy himself with his friends. He enjoys the day off to the maximum, the same the audience enjoys the comical antics that transpire in the course of the entire film.
After watching the film, I must say that it must have impressed more during those days in which it was released. This is not to say that it has lost its flare in the present day. As a matter of fact, Ferris bueller’s day off is indeed one of those yesterday films that can be watched all throughout the years without necessarily dating too badly. I was particularly impressed by the creative, daring and charming presentation of the a young man craving to ditch school or take some time off the routine school. This is notwithstanding the music and props which relatively tend to signify a time of discontent as well as parthetic hairdos (DiMare, 2011).
In all fairness, I regard almost everything in the Ferris bueller’s day off film to be superb. I was charmed by the postmodern conversations that the characters tend to have with the audience. I also found the a few little back stories particulaly interesting because they serve to shape the overall threading of the comedy. There is doubt that the film also does well to present the issue of generational gap. This is expertly presented in form of the old man Alan Ruch who turns out to be a perfect opposite to Ferris, the cool nonchalant young fella. Indeed Ferris bueller’s day off movie affords a viewer the golden oppoertunity to have a genuine laugh from a cast of yesteryears, though modern gross-out comedies may be in plenty.
