Forensic Tool Recommendations
The local police office has had a number of cases in the last year which involved cell phones. They called upon you and your expertise. The sheriff has asked you to recommend what equipment the office should buy as the police builds out its capabilities. The county building, which houses the police station, has a small office that will be assigned to the digital evidence lab, where this new capability will reside. The sheriff expects investigations to take place in both the lab and in the field. The detectives, who will use this equipment, are veterans on the police force, but they are relatively new to mobile device forensics. The sheriff has informed you that the budget is tight for this year and the office can only afford to spend no more than $20,000 this year. (You can assume that the department has several laptops.)
Conduct some research and write a 1-2 page proposal of what should be purchased.
Take into consideration all aspects of the operation: hardware, software, training, and peripherals.
it needs to be a balance between budgeting, i.e., line item presentation, and an explanation of what you are buying and more importantly why you are making recommendations for these particular items
