Freedom
Introduction
The media is an article that is about the aspect of passing on to the next generation a brighter future that was no there in the past. The issues like global poverty and spread of deadly diseases could be done away with as time goes by. The dominance of violence and terrorism could be limited. There could be an elevation of the aspect of respect for human life in all parts of the world. The article brings out the aspect of freedom in the light of needs and hopes of people in development, security and human rights. This notion of freedom is in line with the Charter of United Nation’s. All this could be put in place with a working institution. This is necessary to become secure, prosperous and enjoy their rights.
The environment is working in the favor to achieve these goals. In a period where global interdependence and common desire is appropriately grasped it could do much to integrate all the countries in the same path. With the global abundance in place, all of the countries have the ability to limit the issues that tend to separate us on the path of wealth (United Nations 2005). This could only be done away with if such resources could be shared equally. After several states experiences aspects of hard life experiences and upcoming threats and past ones there is the desire to have a common mode of action. There is also the desire to make extensive changes in the structures available in the United Nations with the intention of making fit and with available resources to assist it in meeting the set objectives.
The year 2005 offered and opportunity for this kind of objective. This media presents a comprehensive application of the Millennium Declaration. The report is based on the principles and objective of the Charter of the United Nations. The reports on the progress made in attaining a united front for all of the countries so as achieve a suitable environment to live in (UNDP 2012). the changes that have been made are applicable with the assistance of the political class with is involved in a lot of the decision making. The report advocates for an end to conflicts which do much as to threaten local and global solidity.
The concept of freedom is understood in the acquisition of development, security and human rights. The path of freedom is laid in the wants and expectations of the individual person who is located in all parts of the world. The Charter of the United Nations is hence is a cluster of countries that are free from oppression of any kind on human kind (Denton, Fretz and Spencer 2000, pg. 107). It is tasked with meeting the requirements of the people. This achieved through development, freedom and peace. The Charter was able to meet this, with the attempt to hinder the future generations from the effect of war; it was hence objectified to elevate its view to be able to achieve this. This led to the coming to being an organization that would uphold the basics of humanity, create situations where justice and law was advanced and lead to social advancement as well as proper levels for life in freedom.
The aspect of freedom is acquired with a keen focus on the relevance of the Charter of the United Nations and to insist that its objective should be met in the men and women of the varied places of the world (UN 2012). The aspect of a ‘larger freedom’ encompasses the aspect of development, meeting security and protecting human rights which correlate. A person who is able chooses his rulers but physically challenged due to a certain disease is not termed as being free as he is not able to read, write or even walk. A person who works and earns a good salary may not be termed as being free if she or he undergoes violence or harassment at work. The aspect of a larger freedom involves men and women in all parts of the world being accorded the approval to be governed according to the laid down law in a state or environment where all the people, male or female are able to live without discernment, speak, move, worship or correlate with other people without any hindrance. People should also be accorded the freedom for their wants which would do much to eliminate the atrocities of death that comes about due to poverty and diseases from affecting them- all persons from all origins of life are objected in the quest to acquire security and development.
The aspects of freedom; development, security and human rights are all mandatory considering that they all play a vital in correlating to each other (United Nations General Assembly March). This correlation has been elevated with the coming to being of technology, improvement of economic interdependence, globalization and political transformation. Poverty and not meeting human rights are factors that lead to instability and violence. The main cause of poverty and hindrance of human rights is violence which is common in Africa and the Middle East. This brings the structures and aspects of development backwards. Take for instance with the eruption of war in a country and it ends up blowing up bringing down of a financial center, this could impact the development aspects of the country and impacting on the economic growth. In countries which have structures of government and upholding of the human rights of its people brings to light a suitable environment to hinder horrors and solve difficulties to development. Development will not be met unless there is security as well as upholding human rights. The United Nations desires to create a world that all the people are free to live their own lives, acquire resources they need and security to protect this.
With the desire to make substantive progress in peace security, human rights and good governance, there have been many challenges to establish these goals. According several states there is the feeling of instability in power (WilliamFebruary 2 2011). The major countries of the world like the United States, Germany, and Russia among others fail to agree on several matters which would create a unified nation for the attainment of freedom. There is lack of agreement on the goals and techniques applied. On the other hand, there are several people who are impacted by violence and hence have fled their homes to neighboring countries for refuge. The United Nations while tending to the need of some of these refugees, it is unable to meet the needs of others. The objective of the Millennium Development Goals is still far to be met with millions still living in poverty. The global wealth is not evenly distributed in all states. While not taking away the growth of wealth in most countries, much still needs to be done.
Freedom is not entirely positive as portrayed; there is other instance even with the freedom one still suffers. A person who is suffering from AIDS though provided with all aspects of development, provided security and as to his or her accessibility all forms of human rights cannot be attributed to be free. Several countries have been brought down by diseases like HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS has impacted several billions of people all over the world and is continuing to spread in women, men as well as children (Avert 2012). Though faced with this disease, in terms of development; some of them are able to read, write and even contribute to the economy. The countries that they live in is secure for some of the diseases and the access of all forms of the right to live, speech and other forms of rights. Yet they are not completely free from the deadly disease. This presents a contrasting view of the notion of freedom that we have.
On the part of the United Nations to ensure that freedom is acquired security and development as well as human rights, some countries have been more favored than the others. The past happenings have led to a drastic fall in the confidence on the United Nations. Other countries that have looked upon the United Nations for support did not get it, like the Iraq war (Adler 2003, pg. 16). This consequent loss of confidence in the institution has effectively led to increased belief of multilateralism.
Conclusion
With the already set objectives, it is let to use to become motivated. What we do have to be propelled the need behind it. Considering that challenges will always be there, we have to be ready to face them. Advantage has to be acquired on unmatched consensus on modes of advancing global economic and social advancement and create a new agreement on how to find solutions for these challenges. It is hence through this that freedom which not is a faraway dram but a reality in each and every person in the world community.
