Research a topic of your choice to develop and deliver a 5–8 minute presentation supported by PowerPoint visuals. You may select a topic from a list of topics provided, or you may choose a topic of your own. You must obtain approval of topic selection from the instructor. The presentation may be either persuasive or informative. The presentation will consist of 5–10 PowerPoint slides with supporting speaker notes (approximately 75 words per slide). The presentation and the oral delivery of the presentation will be evaluated and should demonstrate competence in the techniques and practices covered in this course. • Follow these step-by-step instructions if you need assistance inserting audio and recording your presentation in PowerPoint. o For students with PowerPoint 2007: • o  Select Slide Show > Record Narration.  Set microphone level and change quality as desired.  Click OK.  Click OK again.  Recording will begin immediately.  Click through the slides as you narrate.  After the last slide, click Enter. A window will ask if you want to save slide timings. Click Save.  Save the file.  On the Slide Show tab, click From Beginning to replay your slideshow and narration. • o For students with PowerPoint 2010: • o  Select Slide Show > Record Slide Show.  Select the Start Recording From Beginning option.  Be sure that “Slide and animation timings” and “Narrations and laser pointer” are both checked. Click Start Recording.  The recording will begin almost immediately. A little bar pops up in the upper left-hand corner; you can pause your recording here if necessary.  When you want to advance to the next slide, either click the Next arrow on the Recording bar or click your mouse.  When you are finished recording, click the X on the Recording bar.  Save the file.  On the Slide Show tab, click From Beginning to replay your slideshow and narration.
