Google advertising business model
There are situations when people need products or services that satisfy their needs. However, it is difficult to determine the most appropriate product due to the nature of competition by different producers. Therefore, there is need for information utility by most business people to increase their daily sales and get profits as desired (Understanding business models: Design, assessment, innovation, differentiation, and transformation, n.d., para. 1). Through research, it has been proven that, there are many ways to advertise products to capture the audience of different customers. For example, advertising through Google or social media like facebook or twitter have been the common ways. However, all these have their advantages and disadvantages in providing relevant information to win the trust of various consumers.
In the current generation, most people get more of their information from the internet. The reason being, the internet can reach many people in various continents within the shortest time possible and uses the least cost to get information. By 2008, Google was the first to adopt the concept of information utility. With the help of search engine optimization, Google has made it easier for people to get information fast. Typing the common word or phrase on information about a product or service will automatically give you the latest information of the product or service in question. In addition, advertising through Google can be interesting because apart from knowing the information about the products, samples may be put in place this makes work even easier.
On the contrary, Google has led to various social concerns especially on known companies. The issue of plagiarizing information and copy pasting in order to attract customers has been a big issue (Chen, R., Kraemer, K.L. & Sharma, P., 2009, p. 59). Companies spend a lot of money on suing other companies for using their information without their consent. In the end, consumers, avoid using those products, as the companies that copy the original products do not reach the standards required. Information utility through Google is limited to the computer literate. Too much wording can also discourage the consumer and therefore avoids reading the document. In conclusion, information utility is important to a producer and consumer. Therefore, in order for both parties to benefit, accuracy should be emphasized.
