Graphic Design
I wish to take this opportunity to request a transfer to take graphic design as my preferred course. I made an informed decision to take Business Administration before I was introduced to Graphics Design. I made the career choices without doing an in depth analysis on what I was about to study. I realized that I made the wrong choice when I got a feel of what Graphics Design was all about. Graphics design has been my passion all along, but I did not understand it in the first place. I have decided to drop Business Administration and pursue the subject that I love. This is a fact that happens occasionally and students realize it when it is too late. My first choice was influenced by personal liking that was likely to change in the future. It is essential that I make an informed career choice based on my passion.
I was persuaded to take a Business Administration course based on an informed choice. I pursued the subject for some time before realizing that I was interested in graphic design. It is only fair for me to make a wise decision to pursue a subject that I love. I could have saved time pursuing Business Administration, but It is pointless to pursue a course I have no interest.
The first step is making a decision that the first choice of the subject is unsuitable for my career. This is followed by my transfer request to the relevant faculty to inform them of the situation. The request statement details what I intend to do and why I made the decision.
A career choice in graphic design is characterized by social contexts and interaction between people and objects. The process of developing a design is interactive and much similar to building a relationship for marketing purposes. It allows for personal expression when developing a design such that the final product communicates a feeling. Graphics design suits me because I am aware of my surrounding and I socialize with it most of the time. As an art, design requires that a student possesses the talent before enrolling to study the subject. A student pursuing a course in design and has exceptional talent has an added advantage. I have basic knowledge of what is needed in developing a design coupled with my passion for the subject.
Design is simplified by use of Computer Aided tools that are necessary developing concepts for the preferred design. These tools provide an accurate transformation of design concepts to complete designs. These tools include Photoshop, Corel Draw and other design tools. Photoshop allows a designer to develop fresh designs from ideas. It has a user-friendly interface that a developer can easily interact with easily. The software has easy to access tools that the user can play around with to make a good design.
Photoshop allows the user to interact with images and video clips. I was able to create a simple video clip using the Photoshop tools. I have had first hand experience in developing business cards using Photoshop. This can be done in a sophisticated manner. Photoshop and the other design tools have contributed significantly in making the work of the designer easy. I have decide to pursue a subject in design because is the right choice.
