Describe and give a brief history of this category of graphic design. Select two recognized artists in this area and compare/contrast the artists’ contributions, originality, and significance to graphic design. For each artist include a short biography, specific examples of professional work and contemporary evidence of the artist’s legacy.
The Research Paper should demonstrate the depth of the student’s research and ability to analyze the subject matter. The paper must be supported by visual examples. The student is required to conduct research prior to writing the paper, using the textbook, related books and periodicals, as well as Internet sources. It is highly recommended that the student consult with Research Librarian during this process. The student is required to provide an annotated bibliography for the paper, correctly listing research material. The final paper is to be six to eight-page paper (excluding illustrations) typed in Times New Roman 12 pt with 1.5 spacing as well as images of the artists work with appropriate captions (artist, title, date). Less than 10% of the paper can contain direct quotations.
