Greenhouse Business Challenge and Carbon Footprint

Corporate governance response
What management structure, internal processes, policies and procedures will we use to manage our Greenhouse Challenge?
In order to manage our Greenhouse challenge, we shall undertake a three-step plan to sustainability:
1) Assessment risk and opportunities – we shall devise a Greenhouse management team and create a board oversight committee. Then we shall measure, benchmark greenhouse emissions from our operations, electricity consumption, and products. Assess strategic, branding together with product opportunities associated with greenhouse challenges.
2) Implementation – we shall develop corporate procedures and policies to limit greenhouse emission and increase value. Here we will design precise GHG emission reduction targets and deadlines along with an action plan to attain results.
3) Disclosure and stakeholder engagement – we shall make it public our assessments and implementation plans in FY reports and CR reports. We shall make sure to engage stakeholders, analysts, our staff and public interest groups for useful feedback to develop proactive corporate response.

Protect our Brand-CSR Response
We shall respond responsibly to enhance our reputation and protect our brand by compiling with the demands of the Carbon Pricing legislation and ETS. We shall make sure that we do everything towards reducing our greenhouse emissions in line with the directions of the government. To do this, we shall maintain an open communications structure which let the stakeholders and consumers to know our operations as relates to the protection of the environment. As such, we shall be sincere with our yearly financial reports. We shall seek to maintain an open line of contact the environmental regulators as well inform the public on our efforts to protect the environment through the media and social networks (Great Britain Parliament. & European Union Committee 2004).

How is my organization going to ‘do the right thing?
My organization shall do the right thing in protecting the environment by first setting up and coordinating internal green teams whose aim would be attain carbon neutrality. An expert would be sourced to help the team in the collection of data, making of informed decisions, working towards standards, tracking progress, and solving emerging problems. Secondly, we shall consistently assess the greenhouse gas emissions of our organization and then implement emission reductions programs accordingly (Woodside 2008). This remedies will those that reduce GHG emissions and save money at the same time e.g purchasing fuel-efficient vehicles, doing frequent vehicle maintenance and reducing generator user as possible, changing office lighting to energy saving bulbs and setting computers to sleep when they are idle.
