Heuristics are everyday “cognitive shortcuts” to help make judgments. They are “rules of thumb” or strategies people use to save effort and make selections in the face of large amounts of data. While generally efficient, they can lead to error and do not guarantee of success. They offer a trade-off between accuracy and efficiency.

1. I need you to summarize heuristics and include the following terms:
a. available heuristics
b. representative heuristics
c. anchoring
d. attribute substitution
e. confirmation bias

2. Discuss 5 heuristics you use/have used

3. Discuss 3 areas where NO heuristics exist based on personal experience
example: “You’re driving and there is a yellow traffic light. You think should you go? Are you gonna make it before it turns red? How much longer is it going to be yellow?” You don’t have anything to help you make the decision.

Im putting 5 sources but you can use however many it takes to answer the questions.
