Find an example of a higher education faculty teaching philosophy from a colleague or from another reliable resource. Identify at least 5 major themes from this philosophy statement. Compare and contrast what the author is reporting with what you have determined as your own personal teaching philosophy. What is similar and what is different? After thinking about what the author shared about their beliefs and also examining your own beliefs, do you notice that there are common elements or threads that strengthen the philosophy statements? What are the common threads that you were able to identify? How can understanding these common threads help you work better with other faculty members in the future?
