Writing Assignment Guidelines (please read entire guideline for clarification and expectations)
1. Students are to work individually for this assignment. Any duplication of
Information between students will result in a zero for both students
2. You are to read both articles, do an extensive background research using the websites provided (I have attached a few to get you started, but you are not limited to these), other websites, journals, text books and GPC library resources ADEQUATELY and EFFECIENTLY answer ALL the questions.
3. Answers should be in paragraph form – no numbers, bullets or listing. Answers in 1-2 words or very few sentences will not be accepted – All answers must consist of explanations, discussions and intelligent reasoning with citations/references.
4. You must make references/citation when answering the questions. Word for word answers (cut and paste) from websites, journals, text book unless you are using quotations or making reference. This will be considered plagiarism and student will get a zero – see syllabus.
5. Point deductions: 2points for omission of any below; 6 points deduction for omission of questions; 4 point deduction for lack of elaboration, discussion, and explanation etc of questions
6. You can NOT use any of the examples given by the authors.
7. Remember you will submit the paper on turnitin.com for the detection of plagiarism (highly plagiarized papers will not be graded). The turnitin.com site will be available ONLY the day before the due date of your paper until midnight of the due date (see syllabus). You will not be able to access this site before that date or after the paper is due at midnight.
8. You are to save your file as a doc NOT docx. document. Files should ALSO be sent as a doc attachment to the Instructor using the usual iCollege email system.
9. Note: No late papers are accepted – see late policy in the syllabus.
Format:
1. Fonts: 1.5 spacing (please be careful with this, NOT double space); Times New Roman fonts, size 12
2. Margins 1 inch – top/bottom, left/right
3. Paper should be 2-3 full pages long, not including the reference page
4. Reference page should have a list of a minimum of 6 references – You should NOT have web pages only as your reference. To make answers more authentic, you should have at least 3 “text†references on your citation page which should include book/journal title, authors, publication dates etc. You may use your text as a source.
5. Pages should be numbered (see below for continuation)
6. Correct grammar and spelling is a must. No “slang†or improper usage of English should be used. If you can, please allow someone else to read your paper –usually this helps in picking up mistakes
7. Please type questions before your answers
8. (Any statistics is also good for your answers in your paragraph
9. (Optional) If included – all tables, pictures etc. should be in the back of your paper – and does NOT considered part of your answer
