will undertake in the topic of their choice. The research proposal will include;

 Why they have chosen it.

 How they are going to carry it out.

 Plan for completing the research.

Presentation: Minimum 300 words. A4 Typed, Double Line spacing.

Assessment Criteria: Research Proposal (15 marks).

 Key sections present to clearly explain the research proposal. 12 marks.

 Information well expressed and presented. 3 marks

 Analyse the elements and stages of team development.

A Research Project: (30 Marks).

Candidates will undertake a piece of research in the topic of their choice as

documented in their research proposal. It will use information gathered from primary

and secondary sources including library systems, ICT systems, the internet and

quantitative data such as statistical tables, diagrams, graphs, charts. It will

demonstrate mathematical skills involved in sampling, averaging and data

representation.

Information and findings will be presented according to a coherent purpose and

leading to valid conclusions.

Presentation: Minimum 1000 words, A4 typed, Double Line spacing.

Referencing Harvard System. Evidence of research, bibliographies & referencing

included.

Assessment Criteria: Research Project (30).

 Research carried out according to the proposal. 10 marks

 Primary and secondary sources used to gather information and variety of

sources acknowledged through referencing and bibliography. 5 marks

 Specialist language and vocabulary used appropriately. 5 marks

 Sampling, averaging and data representation skills demonstrated. 5 marks

 Findings presented appropriately. 5 marks

consent, privacy, confidentiality, data and other protections, and ethical issues in

animal research. Include in the report essential features of civil law relating to

copyright and intellectual property rights and conventions.

Harvard System. Evidenced of research, bibliographies & referencing included.

Assessment Criteria: Report (15 Marks).

 Key issues discussed and explained with clarity, objectivity, evidence of

original thinking. 9 marks

 Research comprehensive, relevant, variety of sources acknowledged through

references and bibliography. 3 marks

 Report well structured, detailed, balanced and free from minor errors in

spelling, grammar, punctuation. 3 marks

Assessment Deadline:

Learners will be provided with the assessment procedures on commencement of the

course. The learner will be provided with a deadline by the assessor for the work to be

presented—NO WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE unless

there are extenuating or compassionate circumstances. Atlantic College will give due

consideration to the learner and judge each application on its own merit.

 Cheat; in a written examination this includes, for example, bringing concealed

notes into examination; using prohibited materials; copying from another

student, etc.

 Plagiarise; word for copying from books, articles etc without clearly

identifying their origin and documenting appropriate referencing.

 Present copied, falsified or improperly obtained data

 Significantly assisting another student or be assisted in the presentation of

assessment tasks.
