#1. Ouija boards remain one of the most polarizing divination devices in American occult history. With the reputation of being potentially dangerous, why were Ouija boards the most popular board game of the 20th century? Why were so many Americans attracted to using the Ouija boards?
#2. The Ouija board has a history of being advertised as “slightly dangerous”. What are the potential dangers involved and how realistic do you find them? Do you think the books, poems, and literary efforts mentioned in the chapter are just new ways for the authors to explore their own subconscious and imagination? Or are these actually the voices of ‘spirits’?

#1. How did early scientific developments in fields like psychology and biology contribute to the development of Christian Science and other related New Thought groups? How does this type of religious thinking resemble later “self-help” trends in American culture?
#2. What is the “social gospel” and how is it different from other forms of mainstream Christian practice? How did New Thought groups get involved in social justice movements and demonstrations? What type of philosophies were these groups looking to unite?
I need you to know a couple of things, First Im not a first language speaker and Im not christian furthermore this is my first REL class. you have to read the chapters and then answer the questions with your own words.
