How is the leading question affect our memory

:
The objective of the investigation is to look at the issue of an event if leading question used on memory. However, the IV was the verbs used: “Smashed”/ “Hit” / “crashed” and the DV was the estimation of speed [km/h]. Competitors were required the “crashed” verb thought that the vehicles were driving with faster speed rather than those who were required the “Hit” verb.
Introduction
The objective of the investigation is to look at the issue of an event if leading question used on memory. This study is about to know if we change the verb used in a matter of speed does this influence the estimated speed that given to participants.

Memory can used as a prior learning. Memory has involved to the understanding and how to deal with some situations. Bartlett suggested that our minds are more of an ‘Imagination reconstruction’ of past event, even though we try to think. The schema theory is made up of all our previous experience and expectation of the event. A good example, our schema of a car crash may involve ‘broken glass’, ‘blood’, we recall things even if they are not present.Reconstructive memory is a hypothesis of cautious memory recall by the keeping of individual types. As a part of all memory, the sorts are utilized in the procedure of recall. It is the procedure to recollect all the things additionally the schema might affect it.In reconstructive memory, in investigation of Bartlett was to explores how memory of a story is influenced by past information in (1932) and the imperative Bartlett’s theory was that memory is reconstructive and that individuals store and get back according to theories made by schemas. In Bartlett study, the participants were 20 from Britain. The participants came to read the American story, which the story title is “The War of the Ghost”. The story and the aspect of the book were unclear to participants. Bartlett used duplicate in his study. This is mean that one participant had to listen to the story and, after all, repeat the story to other participants. Then it is re-published by others. The consequences of the study, the memory of the participants was very affected by the schema. The findings of Bartlett study: the participants were replicating the story six times from one to another, afterward the participants had made the story shorter. In addition, they replicated the story to their social expectation. Eventually, the participants transformed terms and utilized comparable ones that similar to their own social background.

A leading question is the question that allows you to answer an a particular way.Loftus and Palmer (1974) they brought 45 American students participants were presented with a short movie of a car accident. Participants were separated into five groups, and each member were asked about”how fast were the car going when they hit each other”. In adittion, Participants were influenced by how the question was expressed.
Five conditions have been found in this study, These verbs are contacted, hit, bumped, collided, and smashed. Furthermore, When participants were asked about the verb ‘Smashed’ they believed that the cars used their maximum speed than the verb ‘Contacted’ used.
This investigation is a replication of Loftus and Palmer’s (1974) experiment, however, in this experiment the following changes have been made- Firstly, in this study a picture were used to show the participants which is about a car accident. Secondly,The parrticipants were 12 International students so is different then the real experiment. Finally, In Loftus and Palmer’s experiment they used five conditions which are they smashed, hit, bumped, contacted, collided. However, In this study 3 verbs were used crashed, smashed, hit.
The results of Loftus and Parlmer’s findings have led to the following hypothesis, The hypothesis of the experiment was the verb used in the question which effect the estimated speed of the participants, which is a directional hypothesis.
Methodology:
Design –
Laboratory experiment was utilized because is not difficult to replicate.
Independent design has been used because it required a small number of competitors.
Participants:
In this investigation there were 12 participants; we separated them into three groups, 4 for each. Participants were taken by using the opportunity because it was easy. The participants were entirely students at the university, and we selected them randomly.
Extraneous variables:-
Before the method start we were told the participants that they would see a picture and they must use their memory, besides, all participants completed the experiment at the same time. After all, participants were placed in a room to remove the pressure from them.
Ethical issues:-

Right to withdraw- The participants has the right to leave the experiment whenever they wish.
Protecting participants from psychological harm- there was non-violent shows in the photo.
Materials:
*notes
*laptop
*pen
*mini tabs
*picture

Procedure:
We brought 12 international students from the University and we divided them into 3 groups, 4 participants for each.
They have been represented a picture of a vehicle crash. The groups has been put in a separated room and after that a questioner sheet was given to the participants with different conditions, Crashed, Smashed , Hit.
Result:
Competitors were required the “crashed” verb thought that the vehicles were driving with faster speed rather than those who were required the “Hit” verb. In the “crashed” condition, the competitors reported the most high-speed estimate (60.4), followed by “smashed” (49.6), “hit” (42.1).
