HUMAN IMAGINATION
To imagine is the mental ability that allows one to form visual images and concepts that cannot be seen be seen through sight. Therefore human imagination is the ability to translate mental concepts and images to visual sound and writing.
Human imagination is made of two main parts namely learning imagination and creative imagination. Learning imagination enables one to associate sound and symbols with abstract ideas and communicates them with other people. Creative imagination is responsible for developing, creating or building new concepts and innovations.
Human imagination as been considered as a seventh sense in addition to our animal sense which are sight, hearing, smell, taste, feeling and balance. It is not basic to our survival but rather An important gift from nature. It is responsible for innovation such as fire, tools, the wheel and many other things can be accredited to this ability.
Human imagination can be considered as infinite. This is because it is not based on the acquired knowledge one has but rather the ability to dream. The ability of our imagination varies from one just as height or fingerprints changes from one person to another.
An example of this is demonstrated in Netherlands known as the Holland’s Barriers to the sea. This was a project constructed due to the loss of lives in a 1935 tidal flood from the Northern Sea. A tidal wave came and drowned 1835 Dutch citizens. The engineers then sat down and thought of how to minimize the damage by constructing a two mile dam that would prevent such a catastrophe from occurring. This show that due to some peoples imagination they were able to build a dam not yet conceived possible hence infinite in nature.
As we all know Japan is a country with one of the highest population in the world. Therefore this translates to land shortage and other problems but due to their large production of cars and electronics the export many products. This has lead to increase in tourists and business from other countries. These lead to a strain in airports and congestion in ports. The Japanese government decided to construct an airport in the sea. In July 1996 Hong Kong opened its new airport that was 16 miles long but the most spectacular thing is that they first constructed a new island then an airport. They also build miles of tunnels, bridges and roadways to connect to the mainland.
There are many other examples that we could include in this sections such as expeditions to other planets, the moon, advancements in surgery even the brain that was once considered impossible to open but brain surgery is now possible.
All the above examples can be accredited to human imagination. They are proofs that it is infinite in nature and cannot be measured.
