- Smoking in public causes disturbance and irritation to those who do not smoke.
- This happens when the non-smokers inhale the smoke from the cigarettes.
- When smokers smoke, they release the smoke into the surrounding where other people inhale the gases causing an irritation for them. This mostly affects children.
- When children and other people inhale the smoke, they have the risk of contracting lung-related diseases such as cancer.
- It is a proven fact that secondary smokers suffer the most as compared to primary smokers.
- Secondary smokers have a higher chance of getting cancer than those who do smoke. This is one reason why the government should ban smoking in public.

- People should smoke in private settings where it does not directly affect other people.
- People should not smoke in public as this will impinge on the people who do not smoke.
- Majority of the affected by tobacco smoke are non-smokers. It would be unfair for smokers to put the lives of non-smokers in danger.
