  5. Smoking in public is a bad habit that leads to health complications to non-smokers
  6. Public smoking leads to the deterioration of health of non-smokers
  • Introduction
  1. Many people have a bad habit of smoking in public.
  2. Many of these people do not care of how this habit might be affecting those that do not smoke
  3. Everyone affirms that smoking is a dire habit that only leads to health complications to those that smoke and the secondary smokers.
  4. Smoking is not only a bad a habit but also a habit that people should be discouraged from doing.
  5. Smoking in public is rude, unethical and bad display of behavior for the smokers.
  6. It is crucial to note the negative influences of smoking in public.
  7. There are no benefits of smoking.
  8. No matter how much it is legal to smoke in many countries, it is still wrong

  10. Smoking in public causes disturbance and irritation to those who do not smoke.
  11. This happens when the non-smokers inhale the smoke from the cigarettes.
  12. When smokers smoke, they release the smoke into the surrounding where other people inhale the gases causing an irritation for them. This mostly affects children.
  13. When children and other people inhale the smoke, they have the risk of contracting lung-related diseases such as cancer.
  14. It is a proven fact that secondary smokers suffer the most as compared to primary smokers.
  15. Secondary smokers have a higher chance of getting cancer than those who do smoke. This is one reason why the government should ban smoking in public.
  16. Cancer is a fatal disease that leads to death when it reaches the chronic stage.
  17. Another danger to lung cancer is that there are no lung transplants, therefore, when one’s lungs deform this leads to ultimate death.
  18. Smoking in public makes pregnant women exposed to the risk of having their babies born with defects.
  19. Tobacco smoke is dangerous to unborn babies.
  20. When unborn babies exposed to the smoke, this makes them not to develop properly.
  21. There is also the risk that they are born with permanent deformities. These include low birth weight and undeveloped body organs.
  • These babies have a low mortality rate as they die some years after birth.
  1. Smoking in public also causes danger to the environment.
  2. Cigarette smoking in public contributes to increased litter in the environment. Smokers litter millions of pieces of cigarette butts every year.
  3. Public smokers neglect disposing cigarette butts properly. This contributes to the increase of litter in public areas.
  4. Conclusion
  5. There are many problems associated with public smoking.
  6. Governments in various countries should ensure that they ban smoking in public.
  7. People should smoke in private settings where it does not directly affect other people.
  8. People should not smoke in public as this will impinge on the people who do not smoke.
  9. Majority of the affected by tobacco smoke are non-smokers. It would be unfair for smokers to put the lives of non-smokers in danger.
