Intro to Business

Learning Activity #1

Leaders are everywhere. In the scope of this class, we study leaders from a business perspective, but much can be learned from thinking about leaders in a variety of situations: on the playground; in the classroom; in a family; at church; in social settings.

For this activity, think about leaders you have encountered in your life. They can be in one of the situations listed above, at work or somewhere else. Choose the best leader you have had the privilege of working with. Describe the situation and what made him or her a great leader. Relate these qualities to the ones described in your reading assignments and videos, citing specifically the source you are using. Please do not use real names or specific organizations so we may protect the privacy of individuals. Respond to at least one classmate with amplifying information or questions.

Learning Activity #2

This activity will be similar to Learning Activity #1, in that you will think back to leaders you have encountered in your life. This time, you will choose the worst leader you have had to work with. Describe the situation and what made him or her a bad leader. Relate these qualities to the ones described in your reading assignments and videos, citing specifically the source you are using. Please do not use real names or specific organizations so we may protect the privacy of individuals. Respond to at least one classmate with amplifying information or questions.

Does not have to be exactly 275 words, just needs to fulfill assignment requirements. The assignment is through University of Maryland University College, and my student credentials (in case you need the reading material/videos) is:
