Three major parts/questions:
Brief intro description of SSRIs focusing on fluxotine (prozac) – statistics on sales/prescriptions popularity.
1) Summarize why SSRIs are so popular. (positives, what they can treat, reference a cpl fda approved studies, why people regard them favorably)
2) Summarize why people want to limit/restrict them? (criticisms/side affects)
3) My personal take on whether they should be in common use – the point of view should be justified. answer: NO, I’m not a fan of medications – I believe in alternative therapies, using exercise, meditation, diet, cognitive behavioral therapy, etc instead. I think meds should be a last resort and society relies too much on them, rendering pharmaceutical companies wealthier and people over-dependent on mind-altering drugs (please express this more ‘academically’ and with relevant support from peer-reviewed journals/articles).
The paper should be well-written and referenced, but not to the point it’s evidently not written by me. I’m not a psychology major and do not have extensive knowledge of brain functioning either. I’d like the paper to sound more like it’s written by a sociologist and someone who’s not too ‘medical’, somewhat ‘personal’, while still remaining academic.
