Task
According to Universities UK and the CBI Employability Skills are
“A set of attributes, skills and knowledge that all labour market participants should possess to ensure they have the capability of being effective in the workplace – to the benefit of themselves, their employer and the wider economy”
They include:
• Self Management
• Teamworking
• Business and customer awareness
• Problem solving
• Communication and literacy
• Application of numeracy
• Application of information technology
• Positive (can-do) attitude

1. You are required to draw-up a self-reflective personal SWOT analysis assessing your employability skills as outlined above.
2. Based on your analysis you should produce a personal development plan evidencing self- awareness and that addresses your weaknesses and threats and capitalises on your strengths and opportunities.
3. Your plan must include individual objectives/goals that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound).
4. You should think about where you see yourself this time next year, and draw up a career timeline. Consider the opportunities and decisions you need to make to ensure your transition into employability is achievable.
Assessment Criteria: Please see attached assessment form. The assessment will focus on:-
1. Presentation , structure and referencing
2. Critical understanding and evaluation of employability skills
3. Critical self-reflection evidencing self awareness within the personal SWOT analysis
4. Evidence of planning SMART individual objectives enhancing employability skills
This coursework will assess learning outcomes as outlined below.
1. Participate in a Social Networking Environment and appreciate the benefits of such an environment for employers and potential employees.
2. Enhance graduate ‘employability’ skills that were introduced to them in year 2, such as skills development, cv writing, interview skills, meeting management, effective emailing, and conflict resolution;
3. Perform an analysis of the graduate labour market and discuss possible job opportunities in their preferred industry(ies);
4. Analyse the advantages/disadvantages of working in different kinds of employment (Public Sector/Private Sector/Voluntary Sector and large/medium-sized/small organisations).
