Media in Arab countries

Media in Arab countries
Qn 1
Media is an important sector in most countries. Media can be classified into, Newspapers, radio and televisions. These three elements are responsible for information circulation. For example, through watching television, a person can be able to understand the status of the society. It also helps in knowing the status of other countries and relations they have with other countries. Therefore, it is vital to have an clear pass to either of the media units.
In Arab countries, media has been neglected. In the earlier days, people were denied access to know what is happening around them. The Arab culture also, limited women on the nature of work to do. Activities like journalism were not considered women like. Taking an example of Egypt, media is less appreciated. It lacks transparency, independence and diversity (Mendes, 2012, para 1). Media specialists have no freedom of speech or write certain information. Considering the rumors subjected to Arab countries, those who spill the beans of the government either disappear mysteriously or assassinated. This clearly gives a picture of underdevelopment in the political nature of the Arab countries. There is a need for social understanding between the media and government.
Considering the disconnection built between government and media, there is need for a common understanding between the two. The government should grant media freedom of print and other social works. This will reduce the conflicts that these two sectors face. Allowing transparency in the media world will help the people know what kind of politicians they have. On the contrary, the corrupt leaders fear exposure by the media. Therefore, they do everything in their power to reduce involvement of media in their activities. The political structure should also be considered. The reason being, the nature of a government will determine the dependence of media outlook (Mendes, 2012, para 3). In the end, a government that is open to change will enhance media applicability and positive outlook.
Qn 3
Films and movies are incredible to watch for inspiration purposes. Various movies have different motives in life and life lessons. Whenever, I watch a movie I get inspired with what I see. I try to understand its motif. For example, 24 season nine has been one movie that is educative. This movie shows a person what kind of governments we have. It tries to explain the nature of people involved in the urge of creating peace. On the contrary, some corrupt leaders want things to benefit them on a personal basis. For example, there are situations when some government traitors decide to work with terrorists. Their main motif is to carry out revenge to those who wanted him out. In addition, there are situations when counter terrorism agencies have to find best ways of stooping such acts. With their nature of organization and motivation, it may be hard to identify what may happen in the near future. Being an expert journalism, would be of help to stop such activities. Giving a heads up to the intelligence unit of the dangers that may exist can help solve certain atrocities.
The safety of the society begins with the loyal citizens. The need for loyal journalist can help in capturing the corrupt and putting them behind bars. For example in the movie “24” the Federal Bureau Intelligence Unit works in collaboration with some spies to get information. This information helps the FBI get some leads on stopping certain attacks. In the end, the guilty end up in jail or sentenced to death depending on crime charge. Therefore, films may be for entertainment, but if watched keenly, they usually have lessons that are applicable to the society.
