Missouri

Introduction
Basically, Missouri comprise of 1850 was a series of actions that was approved by the United State Congress in order to resolve slavery problems as well as evade slavery withdrawal.. This comprise was formed after the presidential election victory of the hero of war by the name Zachary Taylor. Soon after Zachary’s victory, California sought for an application to be included to the political compromise that dealt with prohibition of slavery as a liberated nation. However, the leaders from the southern with an example of John Tyler and John C were not contented with the California’s application and they therefore attempted to block its inclusion into the union as a free state. This caused a threatened grave of crisis that lead to the division of the state of California into two. It was from this juncture that the Whigs and democrats formed the compromise of 1850
.The most common feature of 1850 compromise was the rules and regulations which would allow the admission of California to the union that dealt with the spreading of slavery. The laws were to allow California’s admission to the union as a free state. In addition, the compromise 1850 also provided for establishment of the fugitive slave Act. The fugitive slave Act needed the national officials in North to help the slave catchers. However, even after the 1850 compromise, questions of slavery were raised and there were worries that engulfed the events of a very tough legislation of antislavery which would probably cause the states from the southern to withdraw from the union prohibiting slavery. The possible collapse of the union was denounced by quite a number of people but to some, with an example of Henry Clay the disintegration was alarming.
President Taylor was also among the few people who felt the antislavery union was in jeopardy. He therefore preferred that the state of California be included in the union as a free state. He also sought to encourage the New Mexico to seek for admission as a liberated state as well. The presidents sentiments were given to the William Seward’s congress but the southern upheld that they should be given equal position as far the territories were concerned. The support of Franklin Pierce from the democrat and from the Whigs from the southern as well as the support of the free soldiers from the northern led to the his victory
In 1854, the Kansas-Nebraska Act was formed and passed in order to develop the northern regions, Louisiana Purchase’. However, this act invalidated the Missouri 1850 compromise through territories’ opening to slavery following its popular autonomy. Seven years after the passing of the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the people from the North who were in support of antislavery disobeyed the Fugitive Slave Act. They engaged the southern catchers of slaves in battles both from the courts and in the streets. Notably the northern Whigs support to Kansas-Nebraska Act, led to the withdrawal of the southerners thereby killing the party. The conflict between the northerners and southerners on both the Nebraska Act and the Missouri Comprise 1850 led to Civil war.
Conclusion
The civil war was predictable before and after the formation of the Missouri 1850 comprise. This is because the formation was not taken lightly. It was filled with threats as well as rejection from both the southerners. The issue on boundaries especially the Texas’s was threatening and sooner or later civil war was to occur. The proposals raised by President Taylor had faced opposition from the two conflicting sides.
However, President Fillmore who was preceded by Taylor caused the compromise to be more practical. Passing the proposal as separate bills was the most convenient way instead of having two issues under one bill. Had President Taylor proposed for separate bills, then they would not have been grave crisis and worries between the southerners and the northerners. The fugitive slave law and the formation of the Utah territories and the New Mexico would have been formed on separate bills and this would have reduced the conflict that ensued between the northerners and the southerners.
