Organisations are facing challenges in relation to managing intergenerational differences in the work place

The aim of this task is to demonstrate your understanding of HRM gained so far this semester in a written report. To do this you must refer to relevant theories, concepts and models of HRM covered throughout the semester in analysing the HRM activities of a chosen organisation. Choose a company (located in Australia) to use as your case study. You will need to make sure you can access enough publicly accessible data to gather information about the company’s current HRM strategy in order to respond to the following research question;

‘Organisations are facing challenges in relation to managing intergenerational differences in the work place.’

In your answer you must consider the;

– The firms current HRM strategy;

– The different categories of employees in your chosen firm and whether any distinction is relevant in your chosen firm;

i. Employees with families;

ii. Older workers, with or without caring responsibilities;

iii. People with disabilities;

iv. Indigenous or minority groups;

v. Younger workers.

– Evidence for and against the view that HRM activities can meet the needs of

employees and is this evidence relevant for your company;

– Based on the evidence you have collected, make recommendations as to how your company can address the HR challenges it is currently facing;

The research report must be written in a critical or argumentative essay style. This means your research paper must offer critical analyses of your chosen organisation HRM activities that incorporate various viewpoints in relation to the research

question. For example, from your review of the academic literature, is there any

agreement that Gen X have a preference for certain methods of applicant selection?
