Patagonia Case.

You are asked to write 9 to 10 pages of case analysis. The case, which you will analyze, is called “Patagonia”. I will also provide you with my professor instructions and my professor evaluation guide, which he will use to mark the paper. As you will see in the evaluation form, there are 31 components which all MUST be included and touch upon in the paper. In other words, you will use the evaluation form as your checklist to help you writing the paper. Please remember that you MUST include all of the components (31 elements) from the evaluation form in the paper. Note: there is another PDF file (already uploaded) named “extra instructions” which will provide you with more information on how to analyze the Patagonia case. It is very similar to the evaluation guide. You will need 5 to 7 academic resources to support (back up) the paper but your main discussion and judgments should be based on the provided Patagonia Case.

As I indicated before that you MUST include all of the 31 elements that are in the evaluation form in the paper, elements number 23 (other frameworks), number 24 (other concepts), number 25 (other frameworks), and number 4 (Concepts integrated) ask you to somehow link the Patagonia Case to the materials learned during the class. Since you do not know the materials that my professor has been teaching us in the class, I am going to upload for you all of the lecture slides (5 chapters) that we have gone through so far. After you go over the PowerPoint slides, then you will need to use these lectures slides to fulfill elements number 23, 24, 25, and 4. In addition, the lecture slides will also help you understand the overall material, which in return will help you to stay on track while writing the paper. Moreover, the lecture slides will help you to define and understand what each of the 31 elements on the evaluation form is about.

Please pay attention to element number 22, which asks you to talk about “Finance”. Luckily, the Patagonia Case has a lot of financial statements plus the balance sheet. You may also do more research about the company finance and you should provide statistical graph to help simplifying and summarizing the financial numbers.

I just want to clarify the meaning of element number 9, which says “Questions (if provided) answered”. Element number 9 means that some of the cases provided by my professor have questions at the end of them but in the Patagonia Case, there are not any (I believe!).

Final note for having an “A” paper: try to integrate the material (using frameworks and concepts from the lecture slides) as much as you could in the paper. This is what my professor is looking for!
