Personal Experience and its Impact
The most significant part in childhood is the recognition of the five common senses. As I learnt to pore over my environment, I set up to identify and make a distinction between tastes, smells, sensations, sounds and sights. Just like many children, I developed a sense of inquisitiveness regarding my surrounding environment that until now fosters a learning feeling. I consider the curiosity I developed in childhood regarding technology and machines as the driving force behind my inclination to complete a course in computer science.
My parents always felt irritated anytime I asked questions relating to my environment. As a curious child, I constantly tried to find answers concerning how certain things came to be, an aspect that helped me in unraveling the anonymity in my life. The answers I received from people never satisfied me. This factor left me in a dilemma of either doing things my own way to satisfy my idiosyncrasy, or to leave things as they were. My nosiness led to valuable exploration, and I took it upon myself to disassemble almost every toy I had in my possession notwithstanding the fact that such behavior would disconcert my parents. I decided to perform what I was afraid to accomplish to seek knowledge of how the toys functioned and the manner in which every part joined to form a functional object. I also wanted to understand the making of the toys.
Unfortunately, I was never able to return all the disassembled parts to their rightful places. In fact, not every part I removed from the toys appeared to fit back. This was demoralizing and disappointing. Not relenting, I kept trying for several times, and at some point, I felt I could go on no more. I later realized that the strength of my mind lied on sobriety and in this regard; I kept my endeavors unclouded by the passion I had for machine and technology. Each day I would disassemble the toys and try to fix them back. It took me a long period to assemble the toy parts fittingly. I did not fix the parts through strength but instead my perseverance played a leading role in my quest for knowledge.
Luckily, my father, an IT specialist guided me each time in putting back the parts in the right manner. He made me feel as though I had achieved what I was searching for because he made me get in touch with technology for the first time. Until now, I remain intrigued by how technology works. My desire is to gain acquaintance in computer science. I strongly believe that developments are a crucial aspect in human life. Life entails constant progress because if one is not where he wants to be, each day he is getting closer to that point. This calls for efforts to remain resolute and accept past failures as they act as a base for future success. I trust that progress in the contemporary world is a significant aspect of a human being. Notwithstanding the difficulties human beings encounter in life, we develop the ability to adapt almost every obstacle that comes their way.
My childhood experience has been a revelation. It has helped me gather an adequate amount of information regarding computer technology, and I believe that what I learnt through the experience is gratifying. The experience triggers my desire to join a high learning institution to nurture my skills in computer science. I believe that one of the supreme accomplishments in humankind is the development of artificial intelligence. The focus of artificial intelligence is the formation of machines with the aptitude to engage intelligent behaviors. Apart from setting off my desire to gain acquaintance in computer science, my experience prompt my understanding that, computers are the trendiest equipments that enhance human life.
