- ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS: Five page (minimum) research paper will be required on a famous cognitive psychologist. Research the life history of the person as well as their pertinent research and contributions to the field of cognitive psychology. APA style format is required for the paper.
The students will also present on their famous person using MS PowerPoint at the end of the semester. Presentations will be no longer than 10 minutes—about 25 slides.
- AMENDED INSTRUCTIONS: no paper required but the PowerPoint is. I believe it will be easier for me to make the PowerPoint based on a research paper.

- I will construct the Ppt. from that.
- Professor likes pictures. I have found some—mainly Broca’s portrait and images related to Broca’s area in the brain—but if you find others related to his life (for example, a residence/house or a school that has honored him by naming a building after him)—that would be great. The source of the image shall be needed to place on the slide that the image is on in the Ppt. so I’ll need that.
- I will upload a Ppt I did from another class for the same professor to give you an idea of what I will put together based on what your paper says. Professor has seen other Ppts of mine so don’t want to deviate.
- DO NOT USE any recently published books. Use articles from professional, peer-reviewed publications/journals (normally required anyway). Find about five references (there are no specifications for this) other than the text book and the text book will be the only book source—if used at all. Too, I would like to have the sources in hand at the end of the project.
- The textbook we are using is Cognitive Psychology 3rd Edition by E. Bruce Goldstein published by Wadsworth Cengage Learning 2011. There is little information on Broca in it. I can upload the applicable chapter, Chapter 2—Cognitive Neuroscience if you like.
