Point of View Essay
The point of my choosing is the Airport. The area is wide, covering up to 10,000 ha of land. I am situated at the far end of the runaway where I can easily get a view of the planes. Human activity in this place is minimal, with the only people in sight being the runaway cleaners. However, the planes are the busiest part of the section. They are constantly landing and taking off on the runaways. I am observing that the planes seem to have a procedural landing and take-off on the run away stretch. Only one plane can take off or land, and after an interval of 10min, the next plane is cleared to take off or land. The runaway has little turns as far as I can see. I presume this is a way of giving the planes an easy time to land or take off. It is no doubt that a curved runaway would make landing a hectic process.
The area is vast and calm. It seems a good place for a sightseeing tour. The presence of small trees on far both ends of the runaway provides a suitable atmosphere. The view of the clouds is simply flabbergasting. The skies seem so clear and awake the wish to rise and join them. The people traveling in the planes must be lucky. The tranquil atmosphere tells a fabulous deal about the planes and the type of character they present. The runaway is well structured and designed. It looks as if it is one long river stretching miles ahead.
However, there is a negative aspect in this place. The busy schedules of the planes are just uncomfortable. They make the place look like a beehive of activity. The second thing that gets into ones nerves is the noise. The planes landing or taking off produce high-pitched noise. The screeching noise they produce while landing seems like a health hazard. I wonder how the people in this area survive and adopt to this row. There is also the emission of smoke in the air while the planes are taking off. The smoke has a distinctive smell that is nose unfriendly. It clears off after a short time.
I made the place look so negative and positive at the same time, using in-phrase juxtaposition. The juxtaposition gave an analysis of one area without necessarily having to explain the contradicting reasons. This helps to provide the reader with the notion that the writer is trying to bring out concerning the place. There is the use of positive and negative adjectives to describe the place. This places different vitiating tones in the speech of the writer. It helps the writer to give contradicting tones of high and low pitch, bringing out the positives and the negatives aspects.
The process of using writer’s toolbox has affected my vision on how various information, for example, media, newspapers, magazines and televisions operate. They use, in phrase juxtapositions in explaining the occurrence of happening on a real time basis. This is something that lets the reader or viewer have the real time analysis of the happenings. Writer’s toolbox has helped me to understand how to relate a topic with a real time analysis. I may apply this knowledge when trying to describe the happenings of a place to a person. This is a skill worth knowing for everyone.
