I want you to write about the primary source for the war and revolution of 1917

Choose ONE (1) of the entries in ONE (1) of the chapters for the module and dig deeply into it. IT MUST BE A PRIMARY SOURCE – not one of the secondary sources Reilly includes. If you are unclear about whether your choice is a primary or secondary source, see Reilly’s discussion of these, or feel free to ask me. Once you have made your choice, write a short essay in which you discuss the following questions:
1 – What is the document? Who wrote it? Who was the audience (who did the author expect would be reading it)? Why did the author write it? What purpose did it serve? What was the author trying to do? You will NOT be able to answer ALL of these questions for EVERY READING, but this is the sort of thing you want to write about.
2 – What can we learn about history by examining this source? What does it tell us about how the people we are studying saw the world? About how they lived? When answering this part, you need to think about what you have read in the textbook and what we have discussed in class about the society that produced the document.
