Prologue (First-Day Syllabus)

ca. 300 words total (100 words per category) in an informal, critical, narrative paragraph form. Please avoid answering the questions below as they are meant as prompts. Citation welcome.

Read the First-Day Syllabus through the following categories
1. Image

a) What are your observations of the image. What do you see?

b) How do you contextualize the image as a problem/question?

c) What are your interpretations of the image?

2. Quotations

a) Read over all the critical quotations, select 3 for possible discussion, choose 1 to actually write about here.

b) For the 1 quote that you write about: Observe it first; that is, read it closely before you jump to interpretation.

c) Contextualize, textualize, and theorize the quote. Why did you choose the quote? For content, for form, or both?

3. Course Administration

a) Read over all material that pertains to grading, schedule, texts, course objectives, assignments, etc…

b) What questions do you have? What problems (good and bad) do you foresee?

c) Does this course fit your learning style or will it challenge it?

d) Should you take this course or not?
