Reflection One
After evaluating a company, its marketing group displayed communication problems. This hindered its performance, and with the introduction of a new product in the market, there was need for changes within the company for the product to receive the amount of desired attention from customers and give success to the company. It became apparent that the marketing group needed help to develop openness within its group. The first thing was training them on the benefits of communication on the performance of the company. Strategies for creating openness helped in the gathering and sharing of information between group members. Meetings organized with the management and the team produced avenues for changing the communication channels, which gave the team best ways of working for the good of both the internal and external environment. Through evaluation of the marketing team, personnel gave their opinions regarding the ways through which they needed to see operations in the company.
This processes helped me to learn that the opinions of personnel are vital in the decision making of company issues. The success of companies depends on cohesion of company teams and their commitment towards the achievement of organization goals. Through the project, I also learned that by putting an effective team in place, resources are optimally utilized. This is because the company finds best practices for tackling its situations, and through a clear communication channel, they are placed to voice their opinions for development of programs h=that call for improvement of company operations. The project opened a variety of literature dwelling on the importance of the marketing team to the success of a company. It was clear that regardless of problems, which a company may face, changes can always be put in place for its success.
Reflection Two
The essence of this assignment was to weigh the importance of communication on the performance of an organization. The study based its focus on the positive achievements, which a company can receive for employing effective communication within the organization. Other than looking at the advantages of effectiveness of communication in an organization, the study will also look at how to promote that effectiveness in the organization. It is also an effort for studying the means through, which communication systems and strategies can be changed for the betterment of the organizations policies and achievement of its goals and objectives. Through the study, the importance of clearly defined communication procedures will be drawn. There should be adequate communication infrastructure set for the smooth running of a company. If such structures are not in place, or are unclear, change in the communication strategy becomes essential. This is a scenario, which leads an organization into developing new communication approaches, which can incorporate the needs of all players in the industry.
Through the study, I learnt that change in communication strategies evolve in a structured manner. I learnt that when a company has open lines of communication, the motivation of workers is boosted and that gives workers a chance of exchanging ideas about their successes and failures. It, therefore, came out that communication lines between investors, sponsors, employees and management must be clearly maintained if an organization intends to scale into great heights. I learnt that the direct indulgence of company owners and sponsors is the best means for ensuring that communication infrastructures set in place met the communication demands of the company in an efficient manner. I managed to learn that communication has direct influence in the performance of the company.through the coordination of employees by the management.
Reflection Three
Diversification of product provision in a company is very hard. It is an aspect, which requires adequate and relevant infrastructure put in place for things to be in place. Working in a multinational company becomes even harder if a company deals with companies operating at a distance. Streamlining of communication channels is, therefore, important for the marketing department to develop and communicate its marketing strategies. The marketing department under the leadership of the head of marketing requires collaboration from the entire team for the delivery of quality products, which would satisfy the needs of the clients. The head of marketing team is in the threshold of handling any possible conflicts with the focus being on development of a valid communication channel. When communication in a team is open and clear, people find it easy tackling their duties because it gives them closure on the responsibilities required from them. Introduction of new aspects in the company also produce negative impacts if an organizations’ team fails to appreciate the change.
Through the project, this level taught me that there are forces both internal and external, which influence the operations of a business. I learnt that the success of a company depends on healthy communication lines within teams. I also learnt that introduction of change should be gradual, and that employees in a company must be informed of any impending changes to reduce chances of resistance. I learnt that it is the objective responsibility for the top management to develop change strategies. They should ensure that communication plan is in place through the engagement of the participation of stakeholders, managers and employees. Employee input in decision making within a company is a motivator for accepting change.
Reflection Four
Workplace organization is extremely important to its performance. Employee relations within an organization play a vital role in its overall performance. Employee cohesion is the greatest opportunity for an organizations’ success. For the marketing department employees, time is an essential aspect for observation. Trends keep changing in the market and there is growing need for keeping up with the changes as they come for maintaining competitiveness. Corporation in the company ensures that employees feel appreciated. Every organization must evaluate the level of motivation in its team. This can be done through the Action Research Model so that information regarding necessary approaches for countering decline in employee performance can be understood. Once appropriate information is in place, an organization must put a program in place for implementing the required changes. This helps the change management team into understanding the time management and utilization capabilities of employees. It also helps the company in analyzing of the performance input that the team gives to the company.
I learned that information gathering in a company regarding the performance of its employees and activities in the company can be gathered through various methods. The first method is through discussions with focus groups where employees are engaged in discussions about issues affecting them. Other methods are questionnaires, interviews and reviews. Aspects like sales can be used to measure the performance of the company. It was also importantly learned that feedback from customers count on the measurement of the direction of company performance. Data analysis from employees and stakeholders like customers can be analyzed to position the company and through internal and external observation, change processes can begin following the results found.
Reflection Five
All forms of business depend on the effectiveness of communication. Businesses require literate communication teams and an appropriate communication channel. This may be expensive setting up but the benefits for the company make it vital for any company. Every department in the company must have a coordinated means of passing information such as through the marketing team. Information passing within a company can be done through emails, phones, paging, faxes, conferences and memos. Given the importance of information passing within the company or business, communication channels must be clearly defined. When acting as the head of the marketing department, what come out clearly was the fact that the communication channel limited employees from getting information at the right time. Proposals for transformation of the communication channels were welcome by the employees and everyone looked forward to the time when information could flow freely and timely within the company. Engagement of professional communication personnel was the first step towards the formulation of a new communication channel in the company.
I learnt that the effectiveness of business performances is through its communication channels. A company with clearly defined communication channels has a team, which is adequately informed regarding whatever is required from them. They are also given a channel for relaying their concerns so that any instances requiring change may be tackled appropriately within an appropriate time. I learned that for a company’s growth, commitment to processes like changing of its communication channels can help it in improving the manner in which it conducts its activities. Collected data can be used in finding out the areas within which a company is not performing rightly and improving on them, thus, improving the performance of the company through the help of an efficient communication channel.
Reflection Six
In this assignment, internal and external policy were the point of formulation for creating sales ventures for electronics. Jobs were divided within the group for ensuring efficiency and prompt completion of the project requirements. Having been new in the market, the team dwelt on developing marketing strategies for promoting the products into the market. Getting the best strategies for marketing out products was the major challenge for the entire team. Being that there were other players in the field, bigger than our team and posing more experience, it became hard and we knew that the best thing to do was coming up with unique ideas. This was an approach for the development of innovative marketing strategies, which would give our clients the best products and satisfaction. Every plan we had was to meet the needs of the project within the given period and budget. Several meetings gave us time to come into a consensus on the best deals, marketing channel, pricing and timing.
Through the formulation and implementation of this project, there were problems requiring the strength of the groups’ commitment. The relationship, which people had in the team, was obviously the only means of driving the project into success. Through the project work, I learnt that adopting current business operations like use of the internet can make work so easy. I also learnt the importance of group cohesion and teamwork in tackling of projects that may seem hard tackling individually. The development of a website is the best thing that happened to our company. It brought about new enthusiasm and positivity towards the achievement of the project objectives for satisfying both local and offshore clients
