1.Research question-What is the relationship with oral health and underserved low income children and adults?
2.Literature review — since this is a student project, discussion of 3-4 articles is sufficient.
3.Null hypothesis and alternate hypothesis – If you are proposing a qualitative study, explain why a qualitative design is the best selection for your research question.
4.Sample – Be specific. Will this be a random sample? Stratified sample? From what population will you be selecting your sample? The entire country? The state of California? Children with cancer being treated at St. Jude’s Hospital? Will the sample be limited by age or gender? If you are proposing secondary data analysis, for example, using the California Interview Survey, describe how the sample was collected.
5.Data Collection
◦Discuss HOW you will collect the data, email, phone, in person
◦Discuss what instruments you will use to collect the data – you may wish to use the survey you designed for the course. If you are proposing secondary data analysis, discuss the instrument that was used to collect the data.
6.Data analysis
◦Describe how your data will be analyzed, include descriptive and inferential statistics.
7.Ethical considerations
◦Describe any ethical considerations and how you will address them. How will you guarantee confidentiality? Will you include any vulnerable populations?
