TOPIC: Subpart X – Stairways and Ladders
a. Summarize the broad application and relevance of the subpart to industry. You might want to give a very brief overview of the subpart to show generally the type of situations covered by the subpart.
b. List and explain the most common violations of the subpart (be specific). This information is available on the OSHA website.
c. Explain how organizations can be sure they are in compliance with these 5 most commonly cited paragraphs.
d. Illustrate the relevance of the subpart with a description of an accident in which the standards of the subpart were violated. You may find a reference through the OSHA website or you may wish to search local newspapers or trade journals for the documentation of such an accident. Summarize the situation, what errors were made by the employer, and what citations the company received. Suggest what the company should do after the accident and how it can prevent any similar accidents in the future.
