Summer For The Gods

You will be reading a historical monograph for your review. While a discussion of whether or
not the was entertaining may be included in your review, the most important issue is what the author has
to say (rather than how they say it). A successful review will denote the author’s thesis (the central idea or argument of their monograph), if the author effectively supported this thesis, and both the types & adequacy of their sources. Please keep in mind that this is a review, not a report. Do not simply summarize the
contents of the book. Your opinion/views on the book are an essential aspect of a good book review.
Reviews should be 3-5 double-spaced, typed pages, with a 12 point font and 1 inch margins on all
sides. Note: 2 ½ pages is NOT three pages Points will be taken off for especially poor grammar.
