Sustainability
Sustainability is a term in the business and economic field that simply means any form of enterprise, which has by no chance any negative impact to the people and environment. The sustainable business ensures that all the aspects that are surrounding it are capable of maintaining a steady impact. In all the way, the local, global and society surrounding the sustainable business ought not to feel a negative impact from the business. This ensures that the business remains a safe place to both humanity and the environment adjacent to it. In most of the situations, almost all the sustainable business will in one way or another has enacted policies that help to protect the human right and the progressive environment (Ngwakwe, 2012).
There are diverse criteria that ought to be maintained in a business to ensure that the business becomes a sustainable business. The criteria have to be adhered to by the management of the firm to achieve the sustainable frame. However, some of the business concentrate on affecting the society and other members of the community and forget about the environment. One of the key criteria that ought to be considered is that the business ought to supply products that are environmental friendly products. The products supplied by the business to the outside world ought not to have any side effect to the people and the environment. The commodities or services provided by the firm or business to the outside ought to replace the increasing demand of none green environment (Boiral and Gendron, 2011). The sustainable business ought to have also greener impact to both the society and other parts of the world hence becoming more than traditional competitors in the environment.
In most of the situations, the sustainable business is related to the business organization in which environmental friendly activities are conducted. Although the sustainable business mostly ensures to maintain a greener environment and is considerate in the products that they manufacture, it is true that they must also make profitable gain. Just like any given business, the sustainable business is also aimed at making profitable gain. However, the profit to be made ought not to be realized is not self-centered like in the other businesses (Belz, & Schmidt-Riediger, 2010). For this reason, the sustainable business can be defined as a business activity that meets the present needs of the world today not forgetting the fact that the future generation will also need the environment to progress.
The importance of the concept of sustainable business is that it assists in the control of the manufacture of the products that are released to the people. Before an organization manufactures any given product, there are diverse aspects that the organization will have to focus on without negligence. One of the importances of this is that the sustainable business will always produce products that are capable of being recycled. This means that the commodities and the products that are conducted by the business will have no negative impact to the society and the consumers, which are the people. After use of the products, the materials left behind can still be reused in other more beneficial ways (Ngwakwe, 2012). This is most important since not all the products that are manufactured by the organization are usually consumed or used.
In the entire world, various building business ensure that they strictly adhere to the sustainable criteria hence promoting the environment and benefiting the world. Not all the entrepreneurs in the world have the minds to commence sustainable business. Some of the businesspersons will lack enough patience and back up hence concentrate on the profitable returns that the firm contributes. This negatively affects the products that are supplied to the adjacent environment.
Some of the three examples of entrepreneurs who were cautious enough to commence and build business based on the transition of sustainable and clean commerce encompass of Jiten Agrawal who is a business entrepreneur in India. Jiten mainly concentrates on the business of planting trees of various species and selling out to consumers (Belz, & Schmidt-Riediger, 2010). The business of tree planting and selling is appropriate in the sustainable business cycle since it assists in preserving the environment. It is also profitable since people purchase the trees for other functions.
Another entrepreneur is Anita Ahuja who is also based in India. He commenced a business that is capable of using the waste materials for the manufacture of other valuable products. In this business, Anita addresses various aspects such as waste, unemployment and sanitation into a meaningful business. The out products obtained from the business encompass of purses and wallets, which are obtained from wallets.
The third entrepreneur is Raul Oscar Abasolo Trincado who lives in Chile. Oscar has found out a meaningful way in which he can incorporate all the poor youths in Chile to work hand in hand and become meaningful to the society. The outcast youth have been made into productive members of the Chile society by participating in innovating activities. For instance, Oscar has initiated all the youths into collecting of cabbage from building (Boiral and Gendron, 2011). The youths earn a living from the activity since the owner of the building pay for the services.
My business idea is to use the available waste products collected from homes to manufacture new products such as plastic bags and other plastic products. This is vital in ensuring that most of the members of the society remain clean and earn a living through selling the new products.
