For this project you will write a thesis driven essay that answers a question relating to sustainability and food. This paper must include: a debatable thesis statement supported by reasons and evidence you draw from one of the articles we have read ( An Animal’s Place By Michael Pollan) and (if applicable) “real world” experience; logically sound line of reasoning; properly integrated evidence; clear evidence of critical thinking and reading. Learning Outcomes: 1, 2, 4, 5 Questions at Issue – Choose 1 1) What role should the government play when regulating food production and/or consumption? 2) How should consumers respond to the concerns surrounding factory farmed meat products? 3) Are individuals solely responsible for their own health or do corporations carry some of that responsibility? 4) What should the most important consideration be for consumers when purchasing food? 5) Choose your own question at issue. Please note: you must contact me with your idea and receive my permission to move forward with it by 5pm Friday 1/22. Papers based on topics that I have not approved will automatically receive a grade of F for the assignment. Please note the following requirements: – Papers should be typed in 12pt font in Times New Roman or other acceptable font and double-spaced. – Papers must be at least 3 full pages in length. – Papers should reference at least one of the three articles we have read so far in class.
