Sherry Turkle describes an encounter with Chatroulette. What do you think? Is this typical of today’s Digitech culture? How do you see the developments in the near future?
I think this encounter is a reflection on the role of expertise in the contemporary society. Technology has been part of the human community in that interaction between individuals across the globe has never been easier. This encounter is effective and efficient in that persons have the prospect to promote healthy interactions or communications with the aim of staying in touch thus positive role of technology in relation to human development. This encounter is a reflection of the modern digitech culture in that contemporary generation executes interaction and daily connections across the globe through the influence of technology. The modern technology systems enable human beings to interact through chatting, texting, or video calling thus improvement from the essence of letter writing as a mode of communication (Turkle, 2011).
Through technology, persons have the chance to choose effective communication or interaction they deem to be fit their development thus an occasion to maximize the utility of resources in the modern society. Technology reflects on the innovative aspects of human beings with the aim of enhancing their lives within the society. This indicates that the technology would continue to experience improvements or chances in relation to enhancing communication or interaction among society members.
- HOW DID HE DO IT? (Isaacson). Apple’s success with i-devices, such as iMac, iPod, iPhone, iTunes, iPad, is credited to Steve Jobs. How did he do it? What would you have done?
Steve Jobs did a remarkable job at Apple’s business entity. One of the strategies adopted by Jobs in order to enhance dynamism within the organization is the implementation of effective and efficient leadership skills in relation to running the business entity. It is ideal for the organization to have strong formal leadership in that the management should know what to do with achievable objectives as short-term goals. Steve Jobs was also ruthless on the workforce in order to achieve the crucial result relating to the competitive advantage within the market and industry. This reflects on the focus he adopted and implemented within the organization with reference to technology. Steve Jobs notes that it is crucial in deciding what not to do as well as what to do within the context of an organization. This is vital for the market development. Steve Jobs’ decision on the manufacturing of four products of the computer was the turning point to the development of the business entity (Isaacson, 2011).
The adoption of focus into the production and marketing of the products was crucial to the building of the culture of the workforce through retreats and collective development of objectives. Objectives were under strict evaluation process during the retreats thus every member developing the ‘we’ feeling resulting into maximum contribution to the company. I would have adopted the same strategies of being professional in dealing with the employees and evaluating objectives on results. The organization should focus on results in order to obtain competitive advantage within the market (Isaacson, 2011).

My digital life before facebook (BF) was impressive to the extent that I was spared the essence of unreasonable updates on the activities relating to my friends in the modern technological world. Implementation of facebook comes with unreasonable updates such as informing the entire connections on the internet of taking a shower or having breakfast. During the BF era, these events were personal, and everything was terrific. In the BF era, my digital life in relation to birthday cards was noteworthy. I would go the extra mile to design quality cards for my friends’ birthdays. In the AF era, this digital experience has undergone radical change through replacement with one line statement on a friend’s wall. This confines the core of creativity in the BF era.
Digital life in the AF era has enhanced my interactions or connections in that I have the prospect to interact with numerous friends and relatives on a daily basis. This is an indication of reduction in the cost of communication. In the previous era (BF), I communicated to my friends and relatives through mobile phones and letters. This was an expensive affair in comparison to the level and cost of interaction through facebook and other social networking platforms. I also have the opportunity to obtain more information that might be political, economic, social, and cultural in nature thus the chance to enhance my awareness through facebook. This is a manifestation of the crucial role of technology in altering events and activities in the lives of individuals. Application of technology offers radical transformation of activities relative to human beings existance (Mezrich, 2010).
