Female smokers have similarly increased from 1998 at 12% to 2007 at 25%. Young female smokers are consequently placed in a vulnerable position to smoking; 1998 saw a 45% of the children below 2 years being involved in smoking, while in 2007, 65% of the children below 2 years of mothers above 35 years being exposed to smoke. Michogan region and its neighbors are however looking at various measures to put into place that will help end cigarette smoking in public places.

Michogan has had little outbreaks of the vaccine-preventable diseases or the enteric communicable diseases in the year period 1991 to 2007. Tuberculosis increased with a small margin while the others remained constant; in 1998 it was 20 out of a possible 100000 to 40 out of 100000 in the year 2007as a result of an outbreak in a homeless shelter.

In order to advance itself in the academic world, Michogan is composed of a secondary school that the community is able to access and acquire the necessary education. The individuals once done with the secondary education go to tertiary institutions like colleges and universities where they are able to access further education.

Michogan region for it to attain a good prevalence of education has to have schools. It has three elementary schools and four secondary schools. Most of the students, approximately 80% of them, do not have access to bicycles and sidewalks in their streets considering the distance to their schools. The elementary schools lack morning breakfast what is only available are vending machines that have junk food like chocolate bars, chips and pop. 2 of the secondary schools have cafeterias where most of the students get their lunch from (markbanit, 2010). Health Issue and aspects of life

Social factors

The increased rate of homelessness in Michogan has left the teenagers, more so the females under the risk of being engaged in sexual activities. Rape is one of the vices that may easily be used against such vulnerable teenagers. The lack of a home leaves them exposed to such atrocities; this has been attributed due to the expensive nature of the houses. In 1998 there were 80% owned and 20% rented houses. This has since decreased to owned houses being 67% and rented houses being 33%in the year 2007. Rented houses have been quite expensive in 2007 as compared to 1998. The increase has been 30% and 32% for two and three bedroom apartment respectively. Bachelor houses and single bedroomed houses have increased by a margin of 18% and 24%. This changing nature of the rental dwelling places is attributed high cost of ownership, thus creating an increased desire for the rental houses and for less fortunate, the shelters is the most common option.

Young adults contribute highly to the homeless persons; the shelters and streets have similarly seen a surge of single female headed families in addition to Aboriginal women. Data reports show an increase of 10% that is 2% in 1998 to 12% in 2007. The Aboriginal women have also grown by 12%; 3% in 1998 to 15% in 2007. The mostly reported cases of homeless-related cases are due to family violence that is at 68% in the region.

Shelters have not been left out, as it has received an increase more so among the young adults, single headed female families and the aboriginal women in Michogan. In the present period 250 persons and families inclusive are on the waiting list of the houses. Investment in the household sector has not been incoming when one considers the elevated level of assistance the region is receiving.

Security and crime in Michogan goes hand in hand with teen sex, if there is an increased level of crime and security teenagers are easily left vulnerable to being raped and consequently acquiring dangerous diseases like the sexually transmitted diseases. The level of crime in the lower socio-economic neighborhoods has recently increased in the past period. There has also been similarly been drug trafficking, grow-ops, and underage drinking. The consumption of alcohol simply leads one to be involved in sexual activities in addition to affecting one’s health. Most teenagers become conversant with alcohol at a very tender age and it is the ease of access to it that makes it available to most people. Alcohol sale has been increasing in the past period, a higher sales per capita. Averagely the comparison done between the province and Michogan region shows a big difference; in 1998 the province sold $420.95 per capita while in Michogan it was $450.87 per capita in the same year. In 2007 there was a slight decline to $418.96 per capita in the province while Michogan it was $445.34 per capita.

The health status of Michogan has been considerably a thing of concern. Reports shows that the number of persons attending the health clinic and been found with the sexually transmitted diseases have been quite high. In the year 2007, the most sexually transmitted infections in Michogan area are Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and syphilis. Since 1998, the prevalence rates of Gonorrhea and Chlamydia have steadily increased. This has been quite common among the teens ranging from 15-19 years of age. Michogan’s prevalence is much higher than the average prevalence of the provincial setting. According to reports, HIV in Michogan has increased in the past years highest amongst the teenage girls; with a 6% in the year 1999 to 26% in 2007.

Michogan Region Province
Gonorrhea 95 55.6
Chlamydia 120 76
Syphilis 68 42
HIV 14 22
Hepatitis B 18 15

According to reports, the young adolescent are more often engaging in sexual intercourse at a smaller age and in most cases with more than one partner.

It is the increased level of teenage sex that contributes to the high teenage pregnancy being reported in Michogan region. In the year 1998 a total of 60.8 out of 1000 teenagers gave birth; they were aged below 19 years. The number of however increased in the year 2007 to 76.7 out of 1000 females below 19 years. The data below shows this in details:

Live births to Teenage mothers

Number of live births to mothers aged < 14, 15-17 and 18-19 years per 1000 females aged 14, 15-17 and 18-19 years, respectively (in a given place and time).

Among 18-19 year olds=42.8/1000 in 1998 to 49.7/1000 in 2007

Among 15-17 year olds= 14/1000 in 1998 to 18/1000 in 2007

Among 14 and younger= 4/1000 in 1998 to 9/1000 in 2007

(Younger teens are more likely to have an induced abortion than to give birth, whereas the majority of pregnancies among older teens end in a live birth).

In virtually the same period (1998-2007) the number of married teen mothers declined; in the year 1998 40% of the teenage mothers were married while in 2007 the number greatly declined by 31% to 9%.

This increased level of sexually transmitted diseases as well as teenage pregnancy has been attributed to lack of quality education. Education being one of the key pillars of the community is an important factor that one can use to preempt the health of any region. In the year 2007, the number of persons pursuing or had completed their tertiary education; university and college education was hanging around 36%. Around 35% of the population attained 9 to 13 as their top most grades, while 14% achieved a grade 9. This report portrays a lower percentage of educated persons in Michogan when compared to Ontario (CNO, 2010). Michogan had high percentages between grades 9-13 and below grade 9. In terms of their sexes; the male have most of them who are done with post-secondary education, with 56% as skilled traders and 10% in social sciences. The females were lesser educated according to the report with 52% skilled in business and commerce, 28% in education, 18% in social sciences and 2% in health.

Economic factors

Life in Michogan is composed of various employment opportunities with a basically stable income. The economics of Michogan has been characterized by a decline in income. This made people in Michogan be involved in finding other means of acquiring money to advance themselves economically. Teenage sex as a way of acquiring income is therefore left as the only option. According to the statistics Canada terms these cases of low income as “the proportion or percentage of economic families or unattached individuals in a given classification below the low income cutoffs.” Such cases of incidence rates unattached persons are computed for persons over the age of 15 years. Unemployment rate rose from 5.6% to 10.6% in the period 1998 to 2007 (Canada, 2011). The females were the most affected as the a large number of them were left unemployed; from 5.9% to 9.0% in comparison to males that was much lesser; from 5.6% to 7.3% in the year period 1998 to 2007.

Political factor

Michogan has a stable political structure that is headed by a mayor who is a strong advocator of social justice. Such cases of teenage sex however are not being handled effectively as shown by the initial data’s. A stable and well balanced political structure will consequently lead to an efficient and effective control of social health issues like teenage sex. It is these political offices that are involved in the formulation of laws for a particular region, Michogan region in this case. The laws formulated by the political offices do much to control establish laws. The police on the other hand do the implementation of the laws. The single police department that is available is not doing much to handle the several cases reported like underage drinking, smoking and engagement in sexual activities.

The Health issue

The health issue that is of notable concern in Michogan region is increased number of teenage sex that is caused due to various aspects in the community. Teenage sex is a major concern for the community of Michogan region. A high number of young persons are being involved in sex early, and adding to this they are being involved with a multiple number of sex partners. Looking at the data on homelessness, there is an increased level of individuals who lack confortable and secure homes to live in. In 1998, the number was much lower in comparison to 2007 which has increased drastically. The security they access from homes is not there living them vulnerable to involving in sexual activities with several partners. The shelter goes hand in hand with the safety and security which has deteriorated in recent times. Rape becomes a common thing in Michogan region.

The expensive nature of the houses has been similarly fueled by a decline in income. The period 1998 to 2007 has displayed a decline in income in Michogan region. Persons including the young and vulnerable members of the society have been left open to engage in sexual activities as another means of acquiring income.

The teenage health issue has led to increased cases of sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancy. The factors there initially stated all contribute to these matters and effective steps need to be taken. An increased from 1998 to 2007 displays a worrying trend that might escalate if effective steps are not taken. A matter of concern is that the number of teenagers below the age of 15 years are the ones most common.

The one side that one may rely upon to resolve this issue, education, is itself not working at its required best, the decline in number of educated persons when compared to Ontario is a matter of concern. The increased number of young individuals engaged in sex, there resulting to teenage pregnancy, is good example hence the number of educated persons declines with time (Remis, Carol, Kirsten, Lorriane, & Merid, 2002). The females are ones most affected by this when compared to their male counterparts looking at the data collected.

The recreational substances like alcohol and cigarettes are easily being accessed by teenagers as young as 12 years of age. Individuals engaged in alcohol drinking are known to be easily engaged in sexual activities. Considering the increased numbers of alcohol sales, it goes without saying that sex among the teens is relatively increasing.

Conclusion

Michogan Region requires a stable economic, social and political structure to effectively handle the teenage sex issue. Considering the various aspects, household should be made available to the community at an affordable price hence contributing to their security and safety from rape and sexual activities they are exposed to in shelters. Various sources of income should be made available to the community so as to counter any subsequent increase in cost as well as cater for their personal needs that makes them go to sexual activities so as to satisfy.

Education being one of the necessary factors that is of consideration needs to be advanced and made available to all the community members. They will hence be able to gain knowledge of the consequences and dangers of engaging in early sexual activities in addition to having sex with multiple partners. The numbers of cases of STIs cases reported will hence be on the decline as well as cases related to teenage pregnancy. An effective governing structure will be needed to enforce several policies that create as well implement several policies. The single mayor will not be able to accomplish much in relation to formulating laws; the police department will need to be added in addition to the one that is there to implement these laws.

With the putting into place of these measures, the teenage sex health issue will be effectively handled and Michogan region will see a successful community. The future will be secured with the handling of these issues, considering they are the leaders to be. The future is bound to see working education system with the community members accessing education easily, a stable and rigid political system that is able to formulate laws and implemented by the police, a working economic system enables the teenagers after going through the education system are able to get a stable employment opportunity.
