In this course we will examine the current roles played by the federal government and state governments in the funding of American public education. Direct federal involvement continues to be a controversial topic for many people. In a paper briefly make the case both for and against federal involvement in K-12 education. Then select the side of the issue that best supports your view. Make certain your paper is well organized so that your arguments for and against are clearly stated as well as your personal conclusions. Cite at least four sources from the literature (beyond the text book) that support your conclusions. Limit your paper to no more than 4 pages, including the bibliography. Please read chapter 1 on the federal role in education in your textbook as background reading for this assignment.
