The Journey towards my Musical Career
It is my sincere belief that the experiences that a person has when they are younger influence the type of person they become in the future. I started playing the piano at the age of six. I loved it and I envisioned myself doing music in any form in the future. Sometimes children have expectations that never realize in life. This was different for me. My love for music only grew as I became more aware of the sound and instruments that surrounded me on a daily basis. Even now, I find myself thinking deeply of possible lyrics to songs that could potentially become hits. When I listen to music of my favorite bands, I do so while listening to each word in the song carefully as though the song is speaking to me. This allows me to have a profound understanding on rhythms presented by different genres. This understanding also goes a long way to enable me to write a proper song of good quality and of the same length. My hope is to join the competitive music industry and to create a niche for myself that separates me from all other upcoming artists.
Image is crucial if not everything in the music industry. I take fitness extremely seriously as it is an integral part of the image. Majority of my goals reflects the importance and the benefits accrued from fitness. I would love to create a unique image of myself while still maintaining a creative, fun facade associated with all pop stars. Moreover, I would like to be a role model for upcoming artists and serve as an inspiration for young children like me, who have already realized their talent in music.
To advance my musical career, I would need to form a band that understands the direction in which I want to advance my career. It is vital for a band to have harmony between each other. This creates a comfortable environment for members to offer their welcome contributions concerning the music we would make. Essentially, there would be guitarists and a drummer to act as accompaniments. Naturally, I would be the lead singer in the band.
After the formation of the band, I would search for a studio that understands my band’s needs and the kind of music that we play. The equipment in the studio would have to be of high quality to enable us to create and record perfect music. The sound technicians should come highly recommended, as they are the ones responsible for editing. Quality editing determines the nature of the song we would produce from the studio.
The band would also need a producer especially for the purposes of video production and packaging. A music video can make or break a song. Therefore,it is paramount that we find a trendy yet visionary producer who understands our music’s vision and mission. It would also be the producer’s responsibility to distribute music to radio stations and music clubs. Social media sites have also become extremely popular nowadays. The producer would post news online about our music, performance dates, and touring schedules for our fans. We would also need a website to promote our music and subsequent band merchandise. An image consultant would also be at play in order to get the right image in terms of fashion as well as hair.
As I had mentioned earlier, fitness is substantially dear to me. Everyday exercise and proper eating habits would enable me to build enough muscle to put me as a contender for a Men’s Health cover shoot. It has always been a wish of mine to appear in the magazine. I would involve myself in activities that I would have to keep conditioning myself until they recognized my potential as a model.
Aside from the constant workouts, I would participate in muscle building activities such as sand boarding for a series of months. This will not only allow me to achieve a better balance, but also serve as a gateway to snowboarding. The practice on the sand will enable me to snowboard on actual snow without toppling over. I am a proud owner of a snowboard, but sometimes the board has issues as it requires waxing to make it work properly. The board, despite its limitations, has assisted me in attaining the correct technique coupled with plenty of research of the sport from the Internet. Soon, I will have the capability to practice on actual snow at an indoor snowboarding outlet in Johannesburg. Eventually, I would hope to participate in a fully-fledged snowboard competition.
In conclusion, I realize that I require focus and drive to be successful. There would have to be thorough planning of time to allow me to incorporate all these activities on a musician’s schedule. Music remains my foremost priority and hard work and determination are the only tributes that would allow me to achieve success.
