My research focuses on the question of: How is dance has been represented in certain spaces? And why it is represented in this way?
there are several traditional dances in kuwait are being performed by women at certain spaces such as weddings, or ceremonies that involves only women, in my research I want to investigate and explore how and why they are being performed this way, and also I will be identifying Kuwaiti culture and tradition in order to understand answer this question
I will send my research proposal which is still on changes, also my previous essay that was written based on the analysis of my own film and applying it to dance theories, I will be providing you an example of an annotated bibliography and how it is supposed to be.
the paper is asked to be written in 2 pieces:
A-Firstly, structured notes on the literature (2,500 words maximum) within the broad topic you are developing for your dissertation or thesis. This is to take the form of an annotated bibliography[1] *organised around an acceptable taxonomy, *a concept map of the ideas contained therein and a critical discussion of some key papers or artefacts. ‘*Literature’ may take the form of books, or chapters from books, articles in academic or professional journals and/or audio-visual or digital items. The emphasis should be on academic journals. Students should guard against the use of web pages at this stage.
Marks will be awarded for:
1-perceptive taxonomy, annotation of the bibliography, and use of concept maps;
2-clear presentation of the relevant literature from a broad range of sources;
3-criticality and reasoned evaluative argument in the annotations, noting also the authoritativeness of author(s)/source;
4-a reflection on the processes of undertaking your annotated bibliography;
5-listing your sources arranged with regard to academic conventions; and
6-well structured writing, including an introduction and a conclusion.
B-Secondly, you are required to select and make a critical comparison of the research described in any 2 items of your annotated bibliography which are actually reports of single pieces of completed research (not research overviews or theoretically discursive papers).
The focus of this comparison must be the design and methodology of the 2 pieces of research and not the findings obtained from the research by the author
