The topic of my paper will focus on the reproductive rights movement in the second wave of feminism in the 1960’s-1980’s. The paper will start off on the broader topic of second wave feminism and move into the era of reproduction rights and tolerance of women’s rights and power they have over their own bodies. The paper will then talk about the abortion laws that were in the US throughout the era of second wave feminism. The specifics will be focuses of the Roe v Wade court case in Texas. The major questions that have to be answered are if the rate of rape went up during the second wave feminism or during the time that abortion laws were prominent to the public eye. If the rate of rape went up, then the grounds that abortion should remain or become legal strengthens because there will be more reasonable cause for abortion in the country.
