In life organization, time management and effective communication are important elements of survival. These three elements work hand in hand for better results to be achieved in any circumstance. For example, for a business to prosper, they organization needs to be organized. Time is money and any single time lost cannot be recovered. In addition, the way employees communicate to their clients matter a lot. Therefore, the three elements should be highly considered to register success.
Fire is always destructive. It is important to be cautious on how to handle things that may cause a fire. However, there are times when unfortunate situations occur. In case of a fire then the fire brigade team should be consulted as quickly as possible to help solve the problem. At such a time, organization is an important element to consider. At times, it takes firefighters quite a long time to reach a scene. In the end situations get worse and people die and a lot of property destroyed at such time. However, this situation can be solved through proper organization. Fire fighters are entitled to be alert all the time. Being organized not only means having the materials to use but also being on toes. This may be a challenge to volunteers who work on part time basis. The organization bit of it requires fire fighters to have a routine that can be followed. Having a duty roster helps to know who will be on duty at what time (Mariucci, n.d., p.4).This will ease the aspect of organization in the department. In addition, it is vital to have all necessary materials for rescue mission checked at all times. This will help in organization whereby, it will avoid unnecessary issues that may come up like. For example, flat tire, damaged pipes or late comers.
Another important element to consider is time management. Time is an important element in the life of everyone. Through time management, fire fighters can save a lot of people and property. Many people usually complain that fire fighters are never competent when it comes to time management. They drag themselves a lot when they are called at a site that needs help. In order to solve this catastrophe, there are things fire firefighters can do. For example, they should have branches in different regions for easy movement. Fire or accidents can happen anytime. In order for the fire fighters to respond on time, they should be located in various places. The impact of being located in many places is that they can respond to immediate calls from those faced with disasters. Training on time management can be helpful to the fire fighters. Technology enhances daily, therefore, it is important to get an up to date training to ascertain the people on how to work with latest technology
Finally, it is important to have effective communication. This will be between the firefighters themselves or between fire fighters and the affected. To enhance communication it means that, all communicating tools should be effective. Most telephone lines especially of the fire departments are usually down. This is an aspect that the department should consider working on. In addition, disasters can be so frightening therefore; firefighters should learn to talk to the affected politely to get required information. Some people who can be abusive and complain a lot as they ask for help. This may be tormenting to the fire fighters (Fink, 2012 para. 3). However, they should learn to be patient. Effective communication also involves getting enough information at the shortest time possible. This will help in contacting the nearest fire station to help solve the issue at hand. Considering the above discussion, it is clear that, time management, effective communication and organization is important to an individual’s career. Therefore, it should be practiced to get the best out of it.
