understand and apply the theoretical concepts of adult education principles, identified learning strategies and cultural considerations to a chosen teaching and learning scenario

Task

This task enables the student to understand and apply the theoretical concepts of adult education principles, identified learning strategies and cultural considerations to a chosen teaching and learning scenario. This scenario may be from the student’s clinical experience or a simulated scenario. The student is to draw on the scenario to highlight their analysis of these theoretical concepts in clinical practice and how these underpin and or affect the role and responsibility of the educator.

There are to be two blog entries. Each blog is to be no more than 750 words each. These two entries are to be designed to scaffold together to build a succinct framework of the students applied theory to a critique of the scenario and the role and responsibility of the educator.

Within these two blog entries the following must be completed:

• Identify and examine an actual or simulated clinical teaching and learning scenario relevant to your role and responsibilities as an educator.

• Critically reflect on the scenario drawing on the evidence of and justification for each concept as it underpins and affects the role and responsibility of the educator.

Rationale

This assessment task will provide students with the opportunity to articulate and critique pivitol education concepts to a clinically orientated scenario. This will build their applied understanding of the role and responsibilities of an educator within a clinically orientated setting.
