Exercising is vital for proper human functioning. People are entitled to exercise to avoid certain chronic diseases that may lead to death. For example, proper exercise allows the blood to flow well in the veins and burn excess calories. In addition, it is a necessity in enhancing proper physical fitness and help. Countries like the United States of America have large populations of people with obese (Davis, n.d., para, 2). Therefore, a carrier in exercise in sport physiology is highly demanded. There are different fields that people train in to help those who have issues with personal exercise. For example, there are specialists who deal with nutrition. They help people on how to live a total life style change that starts from a proper diet. Other carrier opportunities under exercise, and sport physiology include exercise physiologists, masseuse, athlete trainers and swimming trainers and many more.
Studying sport physiology has seen many experts excel and become popular. For example, William J. Kraemer is one of the renowned scientists who have been nominated for the excellent jobs they have done (Krane, 2006 para.9). Kraemer is a kinesiology professor who specializes in exercise physiology, sports medicine and strength and conditioning. As a sports medicine practitioner, he helps in advising his patients on the effects of using some drugs that are harmful to the body. Sports like football, basketball, rugby, athletics and swimming are enjoyed by many people. While taking part in sports, accidents may occur that are inevitable, and causing injuries to the participants. In such a case, sports medicine practitioners like Kraemer get involved to help those who may have been injured to recover quickly. Some injuries require extreme therapy to yield best results. As a researcher, William J. Kraemer discovered “proenkephalin Peptide F hormone in human blood” (Krane, 2006, para. 19). This hormone is responsible for triggering oxygen circulation in the body. This hormone responds positively to those who undertake exercises as required. Kraemer suggest that exercises should be regulated. When it is done vigorously or in excess, it may yield to future body risks like fractures that take long to heal. Prof. William J. Kraemer is known for encouraging practical molecular research. He makes sure that his students undertake the right procedure while doing research. According to the head of the kinesiology department of University of Connecticut Professor Carl Maresh, displays William J. Kraemer as a scientist who has written many book and has a had major publications that encourage exercising. His books have been used by many practitioners to understand the need to encourage exercise recovery and training. William J. Kraemer has contributed to the field of exercise science in a number of ways. For example, he studied the effects people get on the bone when they resist exercises or when they overstrain while training. Training should be smooth and best results are got when people follow instructions. In addition, he studied the effects of resisting training by women and other ageing trainees.
Another important exercise physiologist known for sports medicine is Dr. John F. Murray. There are many coaches and footballers who have heed the advice and techniques of Dr. John F. Murray. For example, Tom Flores who has been a Super Bowl Champion describes Dr. John F. Murray as the life savior. When Tom Flores had a fracture on his knee after a microsurgery that was done on his knee, he lost hope on his Bowling career. As a physiologist as psychologists Dr Murray helped Tom mentally to focus on his therapy. His idea of evaluating the strengths and weakness of footballers and other sport participants has placed him as a prominent and famous sports medicine practitioner. Mental psychology is important in exercising. Dr. Murray helps his clients to determine the range at which they can do there exercises and perpetuate their recovery mode. Through his speeches, books and counseling, people have learnt that exercises not only involve the physical aspect it also requires a person to fit emotionally and mentally. Under some circumstances, there are situations when people undertake vigorous exercises thinking that it helps. In order to be physically fit through exercising, a person should be cautious and exercise at ease. Dr. Murray is known for the discovery of mental performance index that has been used by many athletes and footballers as they practice (Sports psychology services, n.d., para. 8). In the end, this methodology has helped those who were demoralized to work harder in their therapy and get back to work.
In conclusion, exercises are deemed to help not only sports men but also any common person who wants to have a good health. Practicing good eating habits is the first step of a complete lifestyle change. A person does not have to go to the gymnasium to exercise. He can get involved in small activities like jogging, skipping, seat ups and other aerobics. The psychology of exercising is to help people be healthy at all times. With good health, a person can do many things. Finally, having enough rest after a long day of work is equally important through exercising.
