Unit 9

Introduction
I made much discovery throughout my experience in writing. Many qualities of writing emerged with time. They emerged as I per sued the tasks. Writers truly have outstanding skills of collecting, analyzing and presenting information (Stout, 2004). All these are cognitive skills that ought to be existent in an outstanding writer. I came to discover my mental ability as a great thinker after succeeding the procedures of writing. Writing is an entire progression that grips a sequence of events. The foremost step involves formulation of mental entities that give rise to the subject matter. This engrosses the exploration of diverse sources of data such as memories. This step assembles cumulative and extensive data about the theme. It is not always a smooth and a direct procedure. An outstanding writer seeks to attain credible data over a wide range of sources. Definitely, we have to scrutinize the credibility and validity of the data. As a writer, I endured the lengthy and tricky procedure of data attainment. During this process, I also discovered that I possess an aggressive spirit. This reinforced my inquisitive personality in an immense degree. During the task, I was very aggressive to examine the sources in my memory as well as schemas. Out of this effort, I emerged with the most credible data at my disposal. Not all of this information is relevant to the theme of the study. This fact gives rise to the emergence of data analysis. This step requires critical assessment of the particulars (Stout, 2004). In this stage, writers toss the irrelevant data. They use the relevant data to establish the conclusions of the theme. In my writing process, I succeeded in this step. This is a stable affirmation that I am a thinker in writing. The affirmation expanded significantly after the congruent reflection and presentation of my conclusion.
Writing is an entire procedure. It involves the contribution of diverse aspects to make the piece of work successful. This phenomenon is evident in the frequent consultations in writing. Outstanding writers consult memories as well as the responses. Writing is a lengthy procedure that involves a sequence of steps. The steps qualify each other in a congruent degree. I discovered that, planning is an essential tool before any step of the writing process (Sorenson, 2009). Planning involves the critical assessment of the possibility of the success of the paper. Upon digesting this thought, the writer comes up with a strategy of making the paper a success. This is a paramount requirement that might as well engross several activities. Pre-writing is a crucial step in planning of the main paper. This step gives general suggestions about the process of actual writing. It brings a clear indication of the viability of the paper. Planning was an imperative lesson that I attained in my writing.
As connoted previously, data assemblage is an essential stipulation of the writing procedure (Wyrick, 2010). This extensive step involves quantitative and quantitative particulars. The quantitative data involves the aggregate particulars of the entire mental and physical inquiry. The quantitative data engrosses both relevant and irrelevant particulars. The irrelevant particulars reflect the incredible information. The aggregate data goes through a process of refinement. This is definitely, where we toss the irrelevant data. Subsequently, the writer nurtures the mental and physical reflections of the theme of the paper. Before the actual writing, the writer performs a preparatory stage. This step is pre-writing of the paper considering the current mental reflections. Competent writers make this step a paramount requirement of the entire exercise. At this stage, the writer scribbles the key ideas of the mental reflections on a separate paper.
Since this is a step of planning, it dictates on the sequence of events in the composition. At this step, the writers also consider the logical array of the ideas in the composition. Through this move, they arrange on the flow of ideas on the best way possible. They swap the contradictive and incongruent ideas to the best localities of the composition. This step has a great merit on the reflection of the ideas in the composition (Wyrick, 2010). The greatest merit is that the mental cognitions and memories of the theme are easily accessible. This curbs deep contemplation in the writing process. The ideas of the writer are easy to retrieve from the memory. Out of the planning, the actual paper engrosses a congruent and logical flow of events and ideas. Consequently, the reflection and the conclusion of the paper are the most outstanding. This process ensures an outstanding paper. These are the key elements that I learnt about the process of writing.
Throughout the process of writing, there are diverse skills that I acquired. The skills elevate me to a better position to write. They make me an outstanding writer. Nevertheless, I keep learning more skills towards better writing. In my experience in writing, I have attained outstanding language skills (Hex, 2003). This involves the proper utilization of expression and grammar. My scope for vocabulary has widened in an elevated degree. This skill enables me to tackle sophisticated terminologies and expressions easily. The skill also equips me with the ability to use the expressions in a comprehensive manner. The outstanding knowledge of language will as well put me in a better position to communicate. This will elevate my levels and standards of interaction significantly.
Apart from the language skills, I also acquired reading techniques. I attained this through the revision of my own work. Before the submissions, I always went through my paper severally. At this move, I made grammatical rectifications and modifications. The spirit of writing also pushed me to explore more reading materials to expand my knowledge on vocabulary and expressions. The reading techniques will definitely assist me to read and analyze all forms of literature. This will simplify the sophistication of the reading materials. Additionally, my experience in writing has propagated my speaking skills (Hex, 2003). Since I started writing, my speech and array of words in conversations have significantly changed. Writing is more of a mental activity that manifests in speech. As I write, the expressions stick in my memory. Psychologically, the brain stores these entities as sounds. Upon an applicable context, I capitalize on the expression to decorate speech. I use the dictionary to inquire the meaning of some words. The dictionary gives directives on the pronunciation of the terminologies. This trait will help me communicate best due to the outstanding skills on speech.
On presenting my paper, I engaged into discussions with my colleagues. The discussion was an essential informative tool to each of us. The main idea that came to my attention was speed. The discussion implicated that a moderately high speed in writing is a paramount virtue that outstanding writers possess. The extreme ends of the aspect of speed are disadvantageous. Slow writers take a very long time to reflect their cognitions in the actual paper. The extremely quick writers are subject to incongruence. This factor mainly emerges from their errors in the paper. Such writers mostly forget to reflect particular points in their memory. All this is attributable to the extremely high speed of writing. Competent writers advocate for moderately high speed. This speed does not reach the extreme ends. This speed comes in a comfortable position of the writer (Morris, 2000).
I received feedback from diverse individuals after my presentation. They mainly involved my peers and my instructor. They have a positive statement and a congratulatory spirit towards my work. They were a source of immense encouragement towards my writing. These individuals also had corrective segments about my work. Definitely, I took the rectifications for better writing. My instructor encouraged me to improvise on my array, and flow of ideologies. He implied that my paper lacked the impression of a congruent flow of ideas. The flow of events and ideologies entailed braking chains within the paper. Out of this response, I am working for a more systematic and congruent array of ideas in my writing (Wyrick, 2010). My peers implicated of the same idea as the instructor. They also went further to correct me on my speed. Evidently, time was lapsing before my conclusion. They attributed this to my sitting position. They argued that I ought to seek to be comfortable for a good speed in writing (Morris, 2000).
