Part I: Meeting with Instructors
The meeting with instructors aimed at improving academic progress. The instructors are very helpful in assisting students improve on the level of academic programs. The instructors were consulted during official working hours, in their offices that are located at the business department section. The meeting also aimed at ensuring that all academic records like examination results are updated accordingly.
Part II: Academic Path
The business department hosts the major that I have interested in, which is the management major. The majors are divided into three categories; pre-major, core business and major specific. The major specific is management, and it has two major components. The components are; business administration and human resource (Giddens, 2011).
Part III: Interview
One faculty member was interviewed, so as to obtain necessary information concerning Bachelor of Science in Management. The information obtained from the interview illustrates the significance of management in both national and international economic environment (Robert, 2008). The business major is important in imparting important managerial competencies. These competencies are required in ensuring effective operations of business organizations (Gomez, 2008).
Part IV: Path for Graduation
The academic path that leads to graduation is adequately described. The business administration section requires the successful completion of eight core courses and three elective courses. The core cores are; human resource management, quantitative skills, business communication, critical thinking, organizational behavior, management accounting, management economics and senior assessment. The human resource option includes core courses like; human resource management, labor economics, effective staffing, training in business, and strategic human resource management (Gulshan, 2012).
Part IV: Conclusion
Following the positive information generated through the interview process, I have decided to pursue the management major. The business major ensures acquisition of necessary knowledge that will be useful at the work environment (Craig, 2009). My career objective is to be a human resource manager in a multinational corporation. I will succeed in my academic activities, because I have formulated a goal that will ensure completion of necessary course and research work.
